Hey Kerry, Sorry I couldn't make this ride I would of liked to meet some more of you and go on a ride for a good cause. Timmy D's got my 25$ make sure he gets it to you, I don't want him keeping it in his "money put aside for trackdays" fund![]()
Anyway, enjoy the ride, and thank you for setting this up!

Got home @ 3:30p. Great time and a great ride Ruth's RR was awesome! The warehouse was like going into a Staples warehouse.
Hey Nick, how'd it work out for you?
Good seeing Kerry, Cheese, Dave, Vicki, Sam, Eric, Srikar, Jesse, Oreo, Nick and everyone else.
DucDave split off 3/4 of the way and did a HMR ride with all the trimmigs. I almost went too but it would have been my 3rd HMR ride this summer... I wanted BBQ.
Thank You Rob for leading us to and from the Backpack Benefit.
Great seeing everyone today! Even Pete showed up!
Thanks to Ruth, Kerry and the rest of the Backpack crew for supplying us with refreshments and BBQ.
Great to meet srikar whom left with Ducdave to go on the HMR Winona run.
I need an ice cold shower to recoup from the day!
Vicki
Bike got back home and I think the battery is once again the problem.... This means I must have a parasitic draw somewhere in the system that I just don't have the patience to work on now. Glad you guys had a good day, wish I could have been there.
Thank you all for a great day! I am humbled by the support we received today, especially from this site. I am happy to report that we doubled the amount raised from last year! Ruth was beside herself to see the bikes pull in and support her small organization. And thank you to all who supported from afar.
I am more of a lurker, but this site has proven once again how giving it is. It was nice to meet some new people and see some familiar faces. I would especially like to thank John, Tim and Rob for their help. I couldn't have done it without them!
Hope to see you all at the ride next year!

Home at 5:00.
Great seeing everyone. Nice job Kerry...really well done!
We had a pretty good ride back. A bit of a slab till we got more into the backroads of Maine. HMR from east to west and lunch at Subway! Then West road around N. Conway on to 113 and 113a. Winona Road, then 'Huricane Road', Shaker Hill Road, and some connections in between! Alsao a merry go round in Laconia as I followed my GARMIN which was determined I collect a wayward way point! Once collected it settled down and got me the rest of the way as planned.
There was only one thing missing....

Back home just now! 450 miles in total ...my 15 days old streetfighter's odo went from 500 to 950, kaboom! time for the first service.
My day started at 6AM, so as expected I was feeling sleepy on I93 on the way back, took exit 4 and halted for almost an hour, refreshed with a cup of DD coffee and slabb'ed home.
Thank you Kerry for organizing the ride and also giving me an opportunity to give back to the society while at it.
It was nice meeting you all after a long time(an year?) and also meeting gadget, solgirl, jessi(scrlt??). Hope to meet you all once again soon ...August 20th?
And Dave, those bunch of backroads were nice. I almost wanted to park my bike and jump into one of the lakes, hehe.
NHBusa (Terry??) ... sorry for screwing up your fun with my late/abrupt braking and slowness when cornering. Thank you for being the sweep.
just lunch?
I was wondering the same, and was actually looking forward to it!
@solgirl, I also had a very similar orange/black/white CBR600F3, and I almost went for 848, but found out its not a good choice for general commuting.
But, boy am I glad I bought the streetfighter, cant stop loving it![]()

I enjoyed the opportunity to help Kerry with Ruth's wonderful charity a second year. The roads Kerry picked were a very scenic country route through Maine and the pace was perfect so that I could actually appreciate the views instead of focusing my attention totally on the road. Once out of the rural setting and into Sanford the closed down mills caught my attention. I'm sure the workers that once filled those mills must be struggling to pay the bills and their school children wouldn't have a chance without the help Ruth offers. It really felt good to help give these children a backpack full of supplies for a better chance.
Thanks to the NESR members that joined my trip up to Maine. I know summer weekend time is precious and you sacrificed that time to support this cause. I hope after the ride you felt rewarded that your time was well spent. If not, perhaps the free breakfast and lunch helped. Also thanks to those that knew their schedule was booked but made it a point to deliver donations to me before this ride. Your contributions were safely delivered to Ruth's.
Well done Kerry and I look forward to supporting this charity ride again next year.![]()
Great ride. Amazing organization Ruth has there. Glad I could help.
Had a great ride with some good people yesterday! Thanks to Kerry for putting this together, thanks to Ruth and the rest of the Backpack crew for the refreshments and BBQ, and thanks to Rob for leading us there and back!
