Does anyone here know of an good twistys here i CT? I cant find any for the life of me and i'm gettin really bored with the roads that I'm riding right now. Thanks in advance.
I've been riding around Barkhamset Reservoir a few times over the past few weeks. Can't say I found "twisties" that are worth mentioning tho....but there is very nice scenery non-the-less.For twisties you can't really beat Berkshires region so far (close to home anyway) and Rte 57 all the way from beginning to end is a very nice twistied route.

Depends on how far your willing to travel, but when I was riding on the street, Rt 44 near Canaan, CT is beautiful and not much traffic. Rt 67 near Roxbury and Roxbury Falls. Also very nice swich backs.
Hope that helps.

Rt 42 near Chesire/Naugatuck is pretty fly.
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

I used to go down there a lot last season and do the loop indicated. Lot's of fun, then when you get bored reverse it and go the other way.
RT 109 is the f*&kin bomb! starts in Thomaston and goes down th NY. I ride that way every Sun and haven't gotten boared yet! Anything in Litchfield county is great riding with lots of twisties. But i haven't seen anything compare to 109.

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike
If you can get out on sundays a bunch leave from CBC cycle in colchester around 10 am. FAST FAST pace. From there 16 is good 169 is fun. damn I cant think of the others goin too damn fast to watch the signs. Im gonna ride up here in Mass. this Sunday, I'll post next time I go if you wanna go. If you go this sunday have a blast.
There is a nice part of rt. 149 near East Haddam(I think). Some twisties and passing zones are included. Its a short span but if your in the area, its fun to hit it. Occationally, I'd hit 44 west to rt. 7 and run that south. Nice out in that part of CT. Rt. 7 has a few good spots but nothing real twisty.
Taxi, did you go all the way down into washington/kent area? That's where it get CRAZY fun! BTW, I'm in Southington, also. Where abouts are ya? I'm right on RT 10 near Cardio Express.
marshdrummer, Yes I did.I'm just outside the center of town.Maybe we can meet over at Sam the Clams for a cold onesometime.

Naw, I just say 'My twin sounds better than yours!' That eases the tension.
Rte 146 along the shore between Guilford and Branford is the CT Dragon!
Tight, twistee, and fun. Watch out for uncle leo, and bicyclists, crowded in the summer, empty in the fall and early spring.
Any State route west of route 8 and north of route 44. If the one your on is not that good it will run in to a better one. Beware of route 20 in East and West Hartland the road needs to be repaved, on a sport bike top speed is about 35 to 40.I am up in Winsted and have friends that ride in Southington and Bristol. Give me a p.m. we go for rides on thursday nights.
The roads around the VBC are pretty good but the best single road (though it's only a short section) I have ever found in Ct is rt 201 between rt 165 and rt 2. I used to do the 49 loop as well. The state ruined the best road for safety reasons...rt 14A used to be a blast, it was narrow, twistie and had a lot of air catching elevation changes![]()

Yup...good place. The "harley dudes" haven't bothered me yet, though I've gotten a few strange looks in the past wearing full leathers, and I do watch my bike closely.
Next time you go out for a ride, let me know. I can walk to Sams from my place, but a ride would be good as well.![]()
Hey if anyone is heading back out to Westeren CT let me know. I'm right on the tri state border(NY,MA & CT) and there are tons of sweet roads.
I might be game for a ride - except I'm out of town this weekend.
