I need to get some miles on the SXV soon so I can get the first service overwith. Anyone in the RI, Eastern Ct, or southern mass area want to ride Saturday? I need to clock about 200 miles with gas and rest stops every 50 miles..Yes the fuel range is less than 60 miles per tankProbably stay off the backroads and stick to the numbered routes because of the sand.
I don't care where, the VBC area or even down to the coast
Yamaha
I am up for it as long as there isn't too much sand and salt because of the snow today and tomorrow.
maybe...
ahhh fuck. Nevermind... I've got a throttle issue to sort out on the 1000 before it hits the road. and the rest of the week is gonna be spent finishing the SV and doing the body work.
next time.![]()

Possibly... me and my buddy are going to try to get out and get the bikes inspected, and he's been itching to get some miles on the new motard he just picked up![]()
Tell me about it! They were calling for less than an inch of snow, then change to rain. I don't know about where you are but theres a good 4" on the ground now and it's still coming down good.
I'm riding either way Saturday

New Motard? Spill the beans, what is it, pictures?![]()

I am in NE, CT and we have about an inch or so. Nothing major. I get my bike registered tomorrow so I am all for riding too!

What are you doing selling the good bikes
Noel, were you at the SM race last year at Stafford?
I was there for a while but had to leave before the main because I was freezing my ass off...and I rode the bike there
Do you need directions?
Nice!! That bike was on display to the left of the main entrance wasn't it? Across from the Aprilia's?

I got there after the accident so I didn't see it thankfully.
It was impressive seeing the riders sideways (backing it in) entering the first turn...waaaay before the turn
I hope they still have it there next year
Back on topic..
What snow we had is gone and we had some rain to wash away the salt. Forcast is for sunny skies, high of 38. I'm riding, anyone else?

Ride to my shop and say hello. That will get you the mileage you need, plus a warm place to hang out and take a break.

I am in as long as I get registered by then...what time are we talking, where? Any specifics would be good![]()
I have no set plan, was just gonna see who responded and go from there. What works for you, I'm open for suggestions? I'd ride to gixerjockeys shop or stay more local and do a few laps. I wouldn't mind taking a ride down to the coast, it's the only time there are no people on the roads down there
Yamaha
I am up for it. I am just really hoping that the dmv gets my minor filing tomorrow so I can get it registered...cause I have been waiting to get it registered for 2 weeks now and the friggin dmv still won't let me register it. I even have a copy of the paperwork they need but they have to have the original...
All kidding aside, it was cold as fuck todayI did however manage to get 138 miles on the bike even though I froze my ass off. Even met up with a couple squids later on for a late lunch, hey thanks for lunch
This 45-50 mile fuel range stuff isn't gonna cut it for me. Fuel light comes on at 45ish miles and I get gas rite away. It takes 1.6 gallons which is cutting it close seeing it only has a 1.9 gallon tank![]()

Crazy dude, cold ass fuck, had the moonroof tilt on the car today and it was cold, can't imagine on the bike, props to u R7
I rode in the cuntree today and it wasn't much warmer .

mark, do they make an aftermarket tank for that bike ? it may be worth the few hundred bucks for the extra 1.5 gal.

Aprilia makes a 3.1 gallon tank, it comes on the 08-09 SXV's. I've seen new ones on the Aprilia forum for $380. If that were it, I'd probably jump on one but to replace mine with the larger tank, I also need to replace the seat and the radiator shrowds...oh yeah and I'd need the new 08 decals. By the time all is said and done, it's a $700 upgrade. Love the bike but I'm really kicking myself for not getting a 08...which I've recenty seen selling for very close to what I got mine for![]()

Waaaaa...I don't like my new BADDEST-FUCKIN'-MOTARD-IN-THE-LAND already... Boo hoo...
SHUT UP!!!
