    SCCA Licensing Apr 08

This past weekend, a buddy of mine and his dad were up at NHMS getting their last classes in for their SCCA license. I was up there crewing for 'em.
Weather started off kinda dumpy, rained Friday and the first part of Saturday. Cleared up and got to around 60-65 for the afternoon sessions on Saturday. Sunday was just as nice.
Pretty calm weekend with crashes and accidents. He spun 3 times coming out of 2 and tagged the wall with the righ rear, just pushed in the fender and broke the bumper cover and taillight, left some paint on the wall, not to bad. Then second session Sat morning he blew a hole in the diff about the size of a raquet ball & seized it up. So that left myself and another guy swapping diffs when he was in class. Only took us about 40 minutes, pretty quick.
They got their licenses issued Sat evening during the beer-drink-up and were in the SM (Spec Miata) and ITA race on Sunday.

Here are some pics of the weekend. Pretty wild stuff up running up there.

*The water is the tunnel to the infield, ridiculous. it was up to the door seals.

yea, there was a bunch of snow behind the tires in 3 and it was running out and down the bottom of 10. saw a few people have some 'time to change the pants' moments coming out of there

lot less snow there than a couple weeks ago thats for sure...i'm pumped.

how often are those guys out there? I wouldn't mind swinging by to chill/watch sometime....might make a fun pit-stop on a ride or something.

theyre up there quite often. the actual races i believe are on the NHMS website. They're there for SCCA and SCDA days. I can probly get you put on a pit crew list so you dont have to pay to get in
