Skiing and parties weekend of 3/10 and 3/17

I'm a member of a ski club up in Bartlett, NH and have been asked to spread the word about the upcoming events happening at the house over the next few weeks. Figured since there's always talk of skiing and drinking around here I'd let you guys know about what's going on, in case there's any interest in getting a group together...

First up is the weekend of 3/10, the house is throwing an 80s party from 9pm-1am on saturday night. Dress up in your tackiest 80s clothing, practice that billy idol impression, and drink until you think that hot pink leg warmers may actually be an acceptable fashion accessory. Parties usually bring a good crowd to the house (cheezy outfits + 80s music = girls ), so there will definitely be groups headed to Wildcat and Attitash/Bear on saturday and sunday, with perhaps a group headed to Cannon/Sunday River/Bretton if there's interest. Guest fees are $20/night plus $10 for an invitation to the party which covers all your beverage expenses for the evening. We've got a well stocked bar with two taps (Moat Brown Ale and Anchor Steam are on tap at the moment, but there will new kegs for the party) with a fridge full of assorted bottles, wine, and pretty much every liquor and mixer you could possibly imagine, so it's pretty much guaranteed you won't be going thirsty.

3/17 is the annual st patrick's day party, also from 9-1am at our house. This party is BIG and is almost guaranteed to pack our house (which sleeps 60) full of members and guests, along with 200+ party attendees on saturday night, so be sure to let me know early if you want to go. Once again there's sure to be ski trips to all the local mountains on saturday, and there will probably be at least a few headed over to Bear on sunday to work off the hangovers. Oh, and there's a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner planned for saturday night, if you're into that sort of thing the price is $15 and includes wine + dessert. Might be a dinner planned for the 3/10 weekend as well, I'll have to check with the chef and see if he's going to be making it up.

Anyway, if there's any interest let me know, I need to make reservations for guests by this wednesday for the 80s weekend, and ASAP for St. Patties as it's going to fill up quick. Also, if you know where you want to ski let me know and I'll see about securing some discount passes, Attitash is about 5 mins from the house, Wildcat is ~20, with Bretton Woods and Cannon around ~45 and Sunday River at just under an hour.

is there just a PARTY fee ( or is it the 10.00)?

I live 30 minutes or so from bartlett.

and if it is in the area I am thinking of, they have seldom had noise/alcohol/law enforcement issues.

AttiCrash has had some wild Apres Ski parties that i barely remember

Yeah, the party fee is $10. We tend to discourage people just showing up for the parties though. We maintain a good relationship with the local PD, and part of that means keeping people from boozing and driving. There's a drunk bus that brings people from other clubs to and from the parties, and other than that most people who come up for the parties end up staying the night. It's a small town, and the parties attract a huge crowd, so we have to be kinda careful not to get a bad rep. And like you said, the local cops are good to us in return, we never get problems with noise violations or anything like that from the locals, and in return we're very careful about self-policing.

But if a group ends up coming up and you want to stop by for a few beers and socialize, or if you've got a sober ride home, I can probably snag you an invitation. Otherwise, $30 for a night of boozing and a good party plus a warm bed to sleep in and sober up isn't too bad, ya know?

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Skiing and parties weekend of 3/10 and 3/17

Ok, for anyone who is interested in coming up for the party this weekend, I'm going to need a headcount by tomorrow (wednesday) afternoon so I can reserve spots.

I think the plan is going to be to hit up sunday river on saturday, it's about an hour from the house and should have some good snow this time of year. I've emailed the guy who handles our discount tickets to see if we can get any for this weekend, I should know by tomorrow if and how much.

As for sunday, I've got to head down to boston about 11am so I won't be skiing, but there should be a group headed to wildcat and possibly attitash as well if you want to ski both days. Wildcat is a popular destinations after a night of drinking as it's only about 20 minutes from the house and they do a $20 12-4pm ticket on sundays, just show up and pay your $20.

Also got a heads-up on the club dinner for saturday night, the menu is below, $15 if you want to take part and again I'd need to know by tomorrow. Otherwise, there's a good number of tasty restaurants in north conway not far from the house...

    Menu for 3/10:
Sweet and Sour Chicken (not the battered kind)
    Sauteed Veggies
    Sticky Rice
Cranberry Pineapple Pie with Ice Cream
    Two Penguins Shiraz

Allright well that should cover it, so if you're interested just post up here whether you want to stay friday or saturday night or both, if you want to participate in the saturday night dinner, and if you'd be interested in discount sunday river tickets should they be available. I'll be making the reservations when I get home tomorrow about 7pm, so just make sure your name is here or you PM me by then if you want to go.
