I've only been in the Green Mountains region once a few years ago and have forgotten many of the roads.
For a 100-160 mile ride, does this route catch most of the highlights? Should I be adding something, removing something?

the section of 100 from 30 to 9 really sucks, its quite beat up and needs paving badly, take it easy through that section

Thanks for the intel. Given this, would you say that skipping that section of 100, and perhaps all of route 30, in favor route 2, from Shelburne, MA to Petersburg, NY, is a better option? (Keeping, of course, route 9 and 100 south of 9.)

This route has the advantage of beginning and ending where we are spending the night, catching the good parts of the Mohawk Trail/2, and skipping the rough parts of 100.
But it's longer than I wanted. I suppose if my co-traveler gets tired, we can head up route 7 at Williamstown directly to Bennington and then back east on 9.
