There's still plenty of spots open for those interested. And quite frankly, if you can swing it, you really oughta do this. At least take a look at the link. You may be surprised at what little prep is actually mandatory for your bike. And I can't think of any better training method than a track day...
I've participated in track days before, both hosted by SRNE and some hosted by others. I've also corner worked for SRNE and others, and I can honestly say that SRNE puts on a great day...
It really is worth a look. This could be your chance to get out on the track in a non racing environment and learn a lot about you and your bike. And take the time to read and check out every page...

Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I will be there also, giving Stoneman some 1 on 1 track instruction. Can't wait. I will have the race bike (for Zombie's use part of the day) and the RC51 there.
Degsy
Jay, have you ridden the track before or is this your first time?
I've done track days before, but it's been a while. I have yet to get the Tiller out there other than the few laps they let us cornerworkers take during lunch. I'm extremely looking forward to getting out there, and BIG TIME psyched about the effort you're gonna be lending...
I know this is not a day to be lettin' it all hang out, but this track day will go a long way to help decide whether or not I put the effort into racing next year...

I think that I am going to try to get some money together and do this also...

JC, ARE YOU DOING THIS TRACK DAY??? Are you fkn kidding me? We're actually going to ride together after all these years?
What about T-595 Greg? Dude, are you down with this or what? I'm pretty sure TonyI will create the ultra-slow-geriatric class for you.

A'ight now, back to the topic. No, really! This is a great experience to be had. And I can think of no better place to explore your machine and your skills. Their trackdays are very organized, and they put on a great day. Take a look at that link I posted, and be sure to read every page. There's probably a lot less preparation involved than you may have thought...

y'all think it would be a good idea to do this trackday for me? Heres my situation, just got the bike in june, been off of riding for 6 years before the 3K miles I have done this season so far, only rode putting around town and doin wheelies down comm ave prior to my accident 6 years ago... so, my skills definitely need to be sharpened (put it this way, when i was riding 6 years ago, mass pike was 'twisty' to me, but now i can ride rt17 in vt with confidence, maybe not speed but at least confidently)
Anyhow, waddya think? I can prolly get the scratch together to do this, just worried it might be too much, too soon.
Chris
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
This'd be PERFECT for you...Originally posted by hohum

No, dude, you're all set. Unless you're a complete fuckup you'll be all set on the track. At least that's the consensus from all those who have gone before me.

Hopefully this will be the shakedown run for the YZ400, if not I'll take the Duke again. For anyone who hasn't been to the track,
DO IT! it's amazing what you will learn, and what your bike is capable of. Hope to meet some of you guys ,or chicks, there.
I'll be there. I'll probably only ride half the day, so I offer my wrench skills and tuning help to anyone that needs it....
Hey!!! Ya'll best get your arses in gear here! Spots are filling up quick!!!
