Yeah sorry Ken, we were like...Where the hells Ken? You were keeping with us and then you were gone. Of course my eyes really weren't looking in the mirrors much as I was trying to keep pace with the 2 "Sleepers" in front of me...you'd never guess they had it in them, but I think they were trying to ditch me! "Lets get rid of this guy! Yeah, lets do it!". I was likeNo, that was a decent pace! Lot of fun.
That was a fun ride, rite up until I started getting a wicked head-ache and decided to call it a day.
Thanks Mike and everyone who showed up.
Oh, and Mike...we're proud of you Bud! Mr. I'm all safety first...passin cars on the double and shit...that's just...Crazy! I neeeever do that![]()
SPEED SAFELY!
This is definitely one reason why when I lead a ride (which won't happen again, in light of what happened when I was out front), I tell people that they are directly responsible for the rider behind them.

Another great ride today. Thanks for running the show, Mike.
Kenn, sorry buddy! We actually never left anyone behind.. I was up near the front of the pack and stopped on the side of the road when I saw you come by with a few other guys that were headed home. I just figured you were headed that way for a reason.
Great ride Mike... Thanks for putting this together and leading our large group... It was a perfect day for riding! It was good meeting some of the newer guys as well.
[QUOTE=DucDave;812935]Awesome ride...great job leading...even a dirt road for my benefit! Great roads...great weather...nice pace! And everyone looked to be riding well and with courtesy. (Hope you explained to Rob what he must have missed at the riders meeting!)QUOTE]
Ah yes, the dreaded dirt road. When you went on ahead to check out the road once the packed dirt looked to be turning not so packed, a handful of us were ready to bet big money you were going to come back with a big thumbs up to continue with our Dirty Bastards impersonations. Glad we turned around!
In thinking back on the riders' meeting, I don't believe I specifically brought up the issue of passing the lead rider so in the end it is a good lesson learned. No sweat though, I'm glad such a big group turned out. It was fun. I'm optimistic we're not done yet either, some more good rides left this year.

I always thought that was the common practice. Last year rode with a great group of guys who followed that practice and it worked out great. Realized not all groups adhere to it when I went on one Ninja250 group ride and it was like they were trying to lose you. Like they had to prove that they were fast and capable in the the twisties...they were *#&$ing crazy. They would stop at lights/intersection if they were changing course to let others catch up to see the direction they were going. Then they took the group on a severe off road trip (steep rock declines, mud/sand route, deep muddy water areas to cross and one river that on the other side had a steep hill to climb) needless to say I won't ever go out with that group againBut I digress. Perhaps in the beginning of a ride this guideline is added in case some are not aware?
All in all, looked like it was a perfect day to be out. Those pictures are beautiful.
I was giving a few cagers all the time and signals in the world so that they could pull over as a courtesy. I just couldn't take it anymore! The three pickup parade on 136 back into Francestown was a bit disappointing but it sounds like you guys made up for it on 13 in New Boston.
Here are some pics of the ride
Great job, Mike, thanks for leading another awesome NESR ride... I was a happier camper after eating lunch![]()

Mike,
Thanks for picking a great day, great route and a great group of riders to share it. I don't care what my parents said growing up ... it's a LOT of fun to play in the street! I had a great time as I think everyone else did.
Well, everyone except this lil' fellow that ran out to say, "Good morning" to Rachel.

Had a great time today!! Couldn't have asked for a better day and a better group of people to ride with.
No offense guys...maybe "sleeper" is the wrong word. I think it's just that I haven't riden with you guys much so I think I was under-estimating your enthusiasum for speed. I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to the next time for sure. There were quite a few times in the ride where the pace was fun and exciting and no one got hurt, can't ask for much more than that!
SPEED SAFELY!
