    Vermont frost heave report

I did the Ap Gap today. It's as bad as I've ever seen it (big surprise there). It could be fun on a dual sport or sumo. Frost heaves that are best traversed with the front wheel in the air if you can lift it without spinning the rear tire. It felt good to get out though. It was the first time since mid June that I've ridden any distance.

No photo, sorry. A friend happened to stop by and he helped me push the bike up the muddy driveway and we just took off. I don't have one of them there fancy photo taking phones.

I rode the App Gap today with Adam and Foster, and holy shit, John, you're 100% right. It's so bad it's actually scary in spots. Some of the cracks have opened up wide enough to swallow a front tire.

I predict a lot of very disappointed sportbike riders this season.

I second that. I live off a very popular motorcycle route and this winter is by far the worst I've ever seen it. Someone told me it's because if the fluctuating temps all winter? ...

Strange, down here we had so much snow cover and fairly constant temps. Frost layer was not deep at all and the roads are no where near as bad as last year.

Consider yourself lucky. The roads up here are the worst I've ever seen them.

I haven't made it over to T Rd for a scouting ride yet, but I'm hoping it didn't suffer as badly as Vermont roads did. I'm not too hopeful though.

    Re: Vermont frost heave report

There was a frost heave somewhere between the App Gap and Burlington that was the single worst frost heave I've ever seen. It was taller than the speed humps that are scattered around Burlington and I had to slow to like 10 mph to avoid getting airborne. Thankfully there was a sign. If you see a sign, slow down because it might mean serious business.
