I am thinking we may be outgrowing our current location quicker than I thought.
I have come up with a possible alternative and I am open to other suggestions.
A possible alternative is Waf's Westside Deli, Good parking, (at least 100 bikes, good seating, More TV's in the general seating area. NO bar. Working on Free Soda and other incentives, good visiablity...
If you have other suggestions some of the criteria would be...
#1. Room for bikes. Donny's is only good for about 25 of us. Lets try and make it 50-75
#2. Location. Chittenden County. Perferably Burlington, Winooski, South Burlington. A place with good visiability to help with the awareness aspect. (Yes we POSE!)
#3. Sportbike Friendly. All bikes are welcome but I want this to be a primarily sportbike night.
#4. Free soda or other incentives. I really like this to try and discourage the consuming of alcohol.
#5. TV's that can play DVD's, Maybe even with DVR for SPEED
#6. A place with not alot of business already on Teusday nights.
Please submit your vote in the Poll so we can get an idea of where we want to take this.

Not sure where we could move it too. I'll keep thinking though. Its a pretty good gig at Donny's with the free soda and good food.
Parking is a problem though.
I'll keep my eye open.
Hooters.
Oh, come on, someone had to say it.

I think bike night at Hooters is Thursdays, or at least it used to be, but I don't think the food is that great.
Never been to Waf's so can't comment. Adequate parking, especially that's easy to get in and out of, would be nice. Great incentives would be free non-alchololic beverages, including decent coffee (reg. and decaf) for those of us who don't drink soda.A selection of good food appreciated as well.
Where is Waf's?

Bemused.... Mostly because I knew Janus would do it... and also because I live in Ct. and don't really care where you hold it.

Too bad New England Wings doesn't have a better location.
Waf's wouldn't be too bad. I've only eaten there a couple of times. Parking would be at least off street and off sidewalk.
don't get sassy doc. I was just trying to think of other places.
NE Wings? Hell ya, I'm in
And the homebrew shop next door (at least it was)...hmm kinda hard to bring supplies home on the bike.
Dunno what Waf's is, I've not heard of it.
I imagine Al's is out...place is always hopping when I go buy.

I really like Donny's, they are good to us, and have a good attitude.
Do you think there will be a problem with accomodating alot of bikes? The old guy seems to think that we'll be able to use the circle as well as the sidewalks in front of Donny's.
If we are going to move, we need to find somewhere with Super high visibility...maybe downtown Burlington somewhere...

Downtown Burlington is a no go for numerous reason. Biggest one is lack of parking.
Donny's is a good spot and they have been good to us, but unless we can take over the spots directly across the street we are gonna have a problem attracting new bikers to stop in. (I can work on that)
25 bikes on the sidewalk takes up all the room and makes it look like we are full. The parking across the street is not gonna fly. Who do you know that wants to be that far away from their bikes?
Also there are no TV's in the sitting area at Donny's and the seating isn't really open if we get more people.
If we had a larger parking lot and a bigger area we MAY be able to get other events going... Dyno runs, burnout pit, Hot Chaps contest... etc Which I think would attract more people.
Lastly, I have a problem with the recent press we got in Seven Days because of Donny's. I am not blaming anyone. I am just annoyed.
I like Donny's or I wouldn't have started this there. I am just looking at other options.

I agree...Donny's is good (food, people, etc)...but parking for more than 25 is crowded. I personally wouldn't want to go to a bike night where i parked 75yrds away from the action.
However, I've only been there once where we actually had 25 bikes show up...so I don't see parking as an immediate problem. That being said, it's always good to have a solution before it becomes a real problem...
I don't think TV's / seating is a huge priority since you'll always have some people inside some people outside, some walking around, standing/sitting, etc...but food / parking and INCENTIVES will draw the biggest crowds.

Absolutely not an IMMEDIATE problem... Hence my looking for the future.
I would rather we move to a more appropriate spot in order to grow before we become MORE attached to Donny's... If it comes to that.

I'd suggest Hooter's but there past criminal acts of serving minors and unapproved wet T-shirt contests make me wonder about them.

AGAIN... NO to Hooters!

Stick with Donny's. They seem really into having us there, and they've said repeatedly that as numbers grow we can start parking inside the roundabout. If people complain about being 50 feet from their bikes instead of 10, tell them to stop whining and eat a slice of pizza.

In the roundabout? Isn't it usually busy through there?
Don't need people getting clipped trying to cross the road. Hell I almost got clipped numerous times just trying to walk to class at champlain college.
ah the good ol days. damn I miss them.
