Glad you mentioned this. I noticed a bad habit when we were riding home but I didn't know if you were just relaxing....

It looks like you ride with the peg in the arch when you should be riding with the peg on the balls of your feet. That way your feet won't touch down.

The only time the peg is in the Arch is on long straights and I am resting...

At that point I thought that people were just heading home so I pointed it in the general direction of home.

My thought as well.... I was leading and took the right... looked back and saw no one... Pulled over and turned around and here comes 3 bikes... Turned back around and gave chase

Well, aside from the airing-out-of-the-balls, which I didn't really need to see from that angle, you did have both hands off the bars briefly...

Nah, it was more that I was trying to get clues on turn radius from the way you (and the riders ahead of you) were reacting...how much slowing, leaning, etc...and in the process forgot to turn my head towards the corner exit. As we all know, if you don't look where you want to go, you're probably not going to get there.

I noticed that, and I do appreciate it. There were definitely a couple of corners where my need to back off the speed a little meant that I was topping out the Ninjette to catch up afterwards.

Thanks. I said two and half months last night, but I guess it's actually closer to three at this point...took the MSF the 9th-11th of May, picked up my bike on the 21st, and rode it for the first time on the 23rd. Of course, I have managed to put 6,647 miles on the bike in that time...on track to have double the purchase mileage by the end of the season.

I was wondering that too. But Trouble seems to have been too busy to sign on here since Thursday.

Hey did you guys do the NY ride this morning? I was just about to saddle up when I realized that I could really spare those hours. I hope you went!

Yeah, we went. Shame you missed it, wicked fun ride. We hit up not only T**** Rd but several of the other nice ones nearby too.

There was no way I could keep up with Doc on T**** Rd. A 60hp air-cooled British twin with my fat 250-lb ass on it ain't exactly competitive with that sleek Italian literbike Doc got himself.

Finally! I'm online, and I've uploaded the only decent photos to Picasa Web Albums - John - Thurday churn... . I botched pretty much all of the picnic table corner shots. There's an ok one of F4Iguy, but the rest were crap. Sorry guys! Especially kbroderick who managed to scrape hard parts. I wish I had a spark shot to imortalize the moment!

I had a great time Thursday - here's to many more

You're just saying that because you enjoyed the three-minute smell-the-roses break at each end of T*** Rd.
