Anyone else interested in a Bayley-Hazen ride this month (including the class 4 / "hero" sections)? I was hoping to get up there this fall, and time is now running short—thinking maybe October 16 (unless I manage to talk someone into going up this Saturday).
(Mark, I was looking forward to riding this with you; we'll have to get back to it next year once you heal up.)
Or, for that matter, anyone know if the road came through Irene okay?
I would love to go, but I doubt the XT will be ready by then, and even if it is I don't think my knee is up for it. We need to do this road next year since this year was a bit of a bust.

I would assume that this road was left in decent shape by Irene, since it lay pretty much out of the major damage zones, but who knows. At any rate, it's impossible for me for obvious reasons.
We'll definitely do this next year though!

I got the spirit & interest...just not the talent or the gear for the "hero" section. Definitely next year... If my google searches were accurate, it looks like a road & ride I would like.
I have done parts of this route(?) but never the whole distance. Is there a gpx or similar file ?
Thanks for asking... hopefully, next time.
I'll go through the notch itself with anyone..... but likely stop off after at my in-laws
theres just something about a blue bike
hazens notch of course, named for moses hazen himself. fun little stretch.
hey wait, there is a post missing there.

I am planning on going for a ride with my brother in law, who lives in hazens notch, tommorrow..... would be midafternoon though, wife gets outta work at 2, and a good hour or so to get out there, so definately mid-late afternoon. we could meet up with someone doing a longer portion though

Um, does anyone know if the wind project is affecting the B-H? The article in today's freeps about protestors camping mentions that the farm across the ridgeline is the one on the B-H road...
Sunday? A few of us are helping Mark move on Saturday.
Weather is supposed to be good on Sunday, better than on Saturday, in fact. Wish I could go with you guys!

Adam & Keith, you guys interested in joining us this weekend?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm not sure the weather is going to cooperate...the latest weather model runs show heavy, wet snow Saturday night (and we got a few inches here yesterday, I'm kinda hoping that enough of it melts from in front of the garage that I can ride out this afternoon).
Unfortunately, I think I'm out—unless the forecast changes drastically between now and then (in which case I'll have to come back to Killington Saturday night and roll from here Sunday morning), I don't think there's enough of an above-freezing weather window to ride the road and be back here in the evening.
They're talking about snow here tomorrow night now too. Sunday morning could be pretty unpleasant.

Uh yeah... Snowflakes on the radar? I'm probably out too.
Bummer.
