Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
A buddy of mine broke and re-broke his pinky a bunch of times playing men's club basketball. After a few years of the hassle, he went to a surgeon and had it removed. He tells people he did it himself. Kind of a conversation ender, rather than starter.

Bike night!!!! I'll be there, looking like on four wheels this week.

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Yeah, I'm thinking that too. I don't have very rain-friendly riding attire.

Just throw a hefty bag over your head, push your head & arms through... You're all set!

It's the lower-half that's worse off. I suppose I could wear a hefty on each leg. haha

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
So I got stuck working until after 7. Who showed up?

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
I was there, Foster, Parker, Keith, Mark, Gary, and JohnnyC. Twas a good night.

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Keith and I left a few minutes after 7 though. I was seriously craving some pho for dinner, so stopped by Pho Dang on the way home. :yumyum

It was definitely... Parker fixed my leaky phone.

Agreed with Justin on the pho with rare meat (Pho Tai). Incidentally -- just in case you're scared of rare beef -- it's not actually rare by the time you eat it. It's made with slices of raw beef, but they're almost instantly cooked by the near-boiling broth ladled over them.
Also excellent is the Com Bo Ga Xao Xa Ot (stir-fried beef, chicken, lemongrass, onion and hot pepper served with rice).
I've been on a Pho Tai kick this week. Had it for lunch Saturday at Pho Pasteur; Tuesday night for dinner from Pho Dang; and yesterday for lunch from Bamboo Corner (the place in the New North End by the trailer park). Each place makes it slightly differently, but all three are delicious. I prefer the meat Bamboo Corner uses (slices of flank steak, a little thicker than the others). For takeout I like Pho Dang, in part because it's a total hole in the wall that's not so nice to sit in. For dining I prefer Pho Pasteur, which is much nicer on the inside but the pho is maybe just a hair less flavorful than Pho Dang's.

JoPo works at a Tai place in newport. He says it's the best around. I plan on stopping in during a ride next summer.

Especially if JoPo is working. Haha

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Yeah. I've never had Tai, so might as well start with the best, right? That way it's all downhill from there!

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
I love Thai food, and we've got a few good places around Burlington, but I have yet to find a place to compare with one that used to be close to where I lived outside of Washington DC. Will be curious to see how good JoPo's place is.

I haven't posted on here in weeks. Good to see everyone is still active. Sorry about missing last week, had a death in the family. Looking forward to seeing everyone next Tuesday.....Thia food rocks.

Haha, maybe Bike Night this week should be at Tiny Thai across the street from Donny's. :D
Sorry to hear about the death in the family, Brent.

All this talk of Pho Dang made me stop there after meaning to for a year. It wasn't bad, some new food tastes that I had no reference for.

Count me in... A ride to Newport toward a worthy goal...Thai food! Speaking of future rides, I am thinking Thai food ride to Newport & a spring dash to the Burger Barn?
Justin & Mark ... thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely try Pho Dang before the week is out. Starting on Thursday, I will be on vacation until next year. I intended to be lunching here & there in the Burlington & Stowe area.

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
So is it just me, or was that Harley asshat being a prick intentionally? Don't know what would possess him to chime in and rip on sport bikes to a sport bike crew.
-
Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
He was being a douche. It's one thing to like Harley motorcycles, that's fine. But when you're vastly outnumbered and bashing street bikes for like ten straight minutes......I was having trouble keeping my mouth shut.

Re: Burlington Bike Night (Every Tuesday from 5:30-8pm)
Yeah, he was being a twat. Very typical of a lot of Harley riders, I've noticed. They somehow think other people are going to be impressed when they talk about their lady's new 1200 Nightster replacing her 883 despite the fact she's still new to riding -- it's like they think everyone aspires to own a Harley but just can't afford it yet, or something.
I quickly forgot him when I stopped into Pho Dang on the way home and got to enjoy yummy food smells while waiting for my pho. And then there was a nasty wreck on the interstate between exits 16 and 17 that backed up traffic pretty well.
