Hey folks.
Got another ride planned with my Triumph RAT pack, and as always you guys are more than welcome to join us. This time we're hitting up the various gaps -- Appalachian, Middlebury, Brandon, and Rochester Gaps, and then probably the App Gap again on the way home.
Pace will be sane (speed limit in towns, 10 or so over on the open road), but as usual we'll pick things up in the twisties. And we will, of course, stop for a bit at the App Gap so people can do multiple runs back and forth.
Lunch break at the Rochester Cafe.
Meet at the McDonald's on Williston Rd in South Burlington at 8:45 am (kickstands up at 9 sharp), or at the intersection of Rt 116 and Rt 17 (in the little dirt parking lot there) at about 9:45.
Let me know if you're interested so I can get an idea of numbers.

Total time estimate? I have a prior engagement at 4, so I'd need to be back in town for that.

I expect we'd be back by 4. Or you could always peel off early if it looks like we'll take longer.
Come to think of it, actually, we might change the route a little bit depending on who comes with us. Might cut out the Middlebury Gap and Rochester Gap and head over to T Rd instead. We'll see what people want to do and what the weather's looking like.
Bill, if you guys end up wanting to join us, get a hold of me the night before and we'll try to figure out a good meetup spot and time.

I'm in. See you at rt 116 and 17 at 9:45!
Update: weather forecast says 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon, so we'll probably shoot to be back home by 3 or 3:30 to avoid most of them.

Mark, what time is lunch?
Dunno; not even sure at this point where we're going to have lunch. Depends on the weather and who turns up for the ride. I'll PM you my cell phone number; text me and I'll get back to you with my best guess of where/when we'll stop for lunch.

Yep, good ride. Met up with my friend Tim this morning, then met up with Village Idiot at the 116/17 intersection. Fun ride over the App Gap, then the Middlebury and Brandon Gaps, then lunch at the Rochester Cafe. On the way back we headed back over the App Gap and met up with MotoFreak, his brother, and F4IGuy, but we just chatted for a bit and then they headed down the way we'd come and we headed up Huntington Rd.
Made it back to Burlington in the dry; now it's thundery outside. Good timing.

Good seeing you guys at the top of 17. Lots of Cruiser traffic up there today...saw at least 3 packs of 10+ bikes. Thought on a day like today there would have been more Sport Bikes out and about...even with the evening T-Storms.
My brother is going to be an excellent rider. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't have the same learning curve that I did/do (especially since he's on my bikes!!!!). He was doing very well today, and its awesome to have him out and about with us.

I was ripping it up at 5:30 this morning with no one else in sight. Had a blast and then followed 17 to the diner at the end. How were the other gaps besides 17? I need to expand on the roads I ride.
The Brandon Gap is always fun, and the pavement's good. The Middlebury Gap would be great if they repaved it, but Rt 125 is in terrible condition. Still fun, but you have to keep speeds down or you'll get bucked right out of your seat.
