Motorcyclist Busted After Passing Police
Bristol, Vermont - July 6, 2009
Police say a motorcyclist was going twice the speed limit before he was busted.
Phillip Gapp, 19, of Waitsfield, allegedly passed several vehicles, including an unmarked police cruiser, on Route 116 in Bristol.
Police say he was going 102 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone. Gapp also has a suspended license. Gapp was stopped and charged with Negligent Operation.
Yeah... I remember being 19. Now I have 8 points on my licence. I have been very careful, aware, and respectful since then. Ticket free for 5 years now:-) Knock on wood, aluminum, and carbon fiber.

Wow - I almost did something like that today, though not at that speed... and my license is not suspended.
Eyes up my friends.
I passed two cars driving like asshats on 16 in NH last august, passed as quickly as possible just to get around, sure enough coming in the other direction NH State Trooper. 88 in a 55. Sucked. They were the only cars on the road at 6 am, driving erractically, speeding up, slowing down, tailgaiting, etc. Cop didnt care.

I would fight a ticket in court if I got it for passing. Seriously, if someone is going 5-10 under and I only have a sliver of time to pass, I'm not going to stay at the speed limit while passing.
Fuck that. Pass going fast, slow back down when pass is complete.

only 102? ppfffftttt that's nothing!
If all else fails, Lean more....
Yikes... I feel like a hooligan when I cruise at 65-70 on 116... I guess some people need more time to mellow out.

Back in a day when I was 18-20 I had 18+ points. Lost my license 2X, once for 135 mph in a car.... ooops
Finally smarted up and haven't gotten in trouble in 15+ years, getting old sure sucks.

Geez - I don't want to be labelled a hooligan but odds are if I'm passing a couple of cars going in the same direction that I am than I'll probably be in triple digits by the time I finish the pass. I just don't get off the throttle until I'm back in my lane. I don't consider it reckless - I just don't want to spend any more time in the wrong lane than necessary. My 2 cents.
This could have happened to me (and about anyone that I've ridden with) is what I'm saying.
