I'm thinking a nice (spirited) ride is in order this sunday, haven't been out on any nice long rides lately. I'm thinking something like rt116 to 17, up over the gap (if it's in good enough shape?) and checking out rt125 or something of the likes? I'm open to suggestions. Lets see if we can get a good group of bikes out!

Sounds like a nice trip... I would think about joining you but I have chores on Sunday. I did a long ride last Sunday ... I can't do that every Sunday...or can I ?![]()
When I start out from the Burlington area to AppaGap, I generally prefer getting to Rt 17 via the Richmond-Hunnington-Hanksville-Gore Road. (Some riders love to blast up the Richmond Hill, as my friend who lives on that road can attest) Rt 116 is nice, I like the quieter roads if possible. (cuz I'm a slowpoke) The views of Camel's Hump can be quite grand. Of course, Rt 17 up from 116 is a nice stretch...and stopping at the Bristol Bakery & Cafe is nice if you need snacks on the west side of the gap, normally, I ride up & through the gap & have a nice stop the Village Store in Warren, then toodle up & over the Lincoln Gap.

The App Gap was better this past weekend than it has been, but I was in the car so obviously it's not a good enough comparo. It's probably not worth the ride just to ride that road, but it should be good enough that there would be no need to navigate around it.
I also prefer the Gore Rd route down to the App Gap.

The app gap isn't bad at all. It's a really unique road Jo. You definitely have to ride it..
Connor, some of us were actually thinking about a ride this sunday..

Never did the Gore Rd route to the Gap. I'll have to try that soon.
But count me in for that other ride!
