Yup, not feeling comfortable. I was doing 1:34's in 9/14 and I was getting 1:44 in qualify. Ugh.
Eric was on a zx-10
KC got 400 points in a CCS region. That's an automatic bump. Lap Times and indexes don't matter.

I had 696 AM points my first season, and 1135 my second. No bumpage here. Must be the wrong region.

LRRS doesn't follow the CCS rules:
- novice class
- fuels frictions
- $15/race fee after pre-reg decline
- eject system
- no Engine Ice
- safety wire header tubes, pinch bolts, calipers, radiator cap, axles, exhaust bolts
- staggered grids
- grids have 4 bikes each row
- lights for race starts
- GTU starts 25:00 at start of race
-
Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
Is it not more accurate to say that CCS does not follow LRRS rules anymore?!

LRRS changes their rules. CCS hasn't changed theirs in years.
LRRS is supposed to be the North East region of CCS, but their constant & more strict rules are slowly drifting away from that.
Plus LRRS races one track in the country.
CCS has 13 other tracks in 5 other regions outside of NHMS.
I'd say CCS is more of a series than LRRS.

I consider these done for safety reasons. And safety wiring isn't that big of an inconvenience. Maybe it's a twin thing.
Not sure what you mean by staggered grids.
It is called the Loudon Road Racing Series. I don't think the number of tracks it runs on is any qualifier to it being called a series or not.

CCS starts the clock on the GT races when the 5 board goes up.
So the clock is already counting down on pit out, warm up, and start.

i actually agree that the safety wiring should be required in CCS, except the outter header tubes. if the bolts and spring clips arent enough, then you shouldnt be allowed to ride on a track.
CCS lines up straight across the cones. LRRS does staggered grids like MotoAmerica and up. I actually think CCS should stagger grids, because some riders have some screwy interpretation on what a straight line is across the cones.

then it shouldn't be endorsed by CCS if they're not going to follow the CCS rules. Make it it's own series then, but that would make it more non-existent than it already is to the world outside of NHMS riders.

for the record Isaac, i'm not stating one is better than the other. just pointing out differences.
there are many things i like about each.

Didn't think you were. Just trying to understand a few things. I plan to race outside of Loudon this year.

bring everything to tech...boots, gloves, back protector, suit, etc.
only need to wire oil filter, drain plug, and filler cap.
obviously feel free to wire to LRRS rules. but if you're in a hurry to pass tech, then just get those 3 done & you're good to go.

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
I like that loudon has a novice class. That's one thing I don't like about racing in jersey. It's like the wild west down there. And the track is very fast, so you have a bunch of inexperienced riders, with horrible lines and aggressive moves all over the place in amateur. One of the reasons I was so surprised to see Kristen listed as an expert now.
Also, I like how loudon grids based on points and not sign up time. Launching in a second wave and competing with the first wave sucks. I like how loudon pre grids, too.

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
2 Days till Test and Tune day (4/28)
3 Days till First Penguin day (4/29)
4 Days till Round 1 (4/30)
Also trying to find out the availability of Miles from S+C since I know Im not the only one that will be in the need of red numbers and a transponder holder after the license course. I know I said in another thread that hes probably supporting moto America but hopefully that's not the case, else its electrical tape numbers for this guy, and who knows about a transponder holder.

Last time Miles was absent he gave his number inventory to tech for them to sell. The rest of his inventory was, of course, with him. That may not happen this time around but you never know.

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
Zip ties hold transponders on just fine.

You know it will work
But...
Amazon prime for the win. Transponder holder and numbers on the way.
Ill be the first to admit I am over prepared

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
Wouldn't it suck if you lost your rookie race because the transponder were held on with mis-matched zipties. Oh man, that would suck!
Make sure your numbers are perfectly straight too. Scoring will not time you if they are off by more than 0.002 mm.

This is what I (and a million other people) do.
I'm repainting my fairings so if tech doesn't have his numbers for some reason, I'll just use red electrical tape for round 1. I hope they have them though. Gotta look dapper for the photogs. :D

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
S&C will most likely NOT be at round 1 since MA is taking place at jersey at the same time.

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
Any panic setting in? I'm trying to hit work deadlines by Thursday so I now have a grand total of one night to pull it all together before Friday practice.
-
Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
Full panic. I may be dragging a carcass and a box of parts to the track Thur hoping I can assemble a working bike out of them without any emergency trips home to find stuff I forgot...

Happy to help.

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
Bodywork and windscreen are repaired (+ a new tail). Decided to hold off on paint until I have more time to do it right, the old ratty tank is going back on for round 1. Suit is repaired and in the mail, should be here tomorrow. The less-damaged exhaust I bought fits. New controls and sliders are going on tonight. Then its just oil, water, and brake fluid. Prep-related panic is subsiding, anxiety about getting back on the horse is building.

Re: No 100 day countdown to LRRS?
I don't know if it's anxiously anticipating or butterfly's but I'm getting jittery.
Issac, can I stop by and checkout your clutch delete wiring harness? I've read the diagram too many times so I Want to actually see it before cutting the cord. Will you be there Thursday or Friday? I'm heading up Thursday afternoon/evening.

Friendly advice, do that between rd 1 and 2 - not night before rd. 1 ;)
