We'll see how you feel about that come midsummer............right now weather must be sweet but come midsummer I'd probably only be able to ride late at night if/after it cooled off.
Glad to hear you are liking it in Florida! Of course you will be missed at the races but glad you seem to like it there.

Well it's official, opening weekend will not be happening for this guy.
Previously unforseen issues arose with my engine build and, while the bike will be assembled in time, it's just safer if I don't go out and try to compete on such a fresh mill.
What can ya do?
Three heat cycles and your good to race?
Contrary to popular belief, heat cycles are not how an engine breaks in, least not according to the builder I've been in contact with as well as everything I've come to know about engines.
Scott - Thanks but I don't wanna smoke the clutch or burn a hole in the timing cover.....or touch the key for that matter.
anyone know where i can get number plates? Is there usually a vendor at the track who might have them? Still havent pulled the kick stand off yet. Gonna put on frame sliders (hope i dont have to use em tho), and still gotta get my tires mounted. Gotta drain out all the antifreeze too. Do you guys just fill em with straight water, or is there an additive that is safe to use besides antifreeze?
Most motorcycle shops have some form of number plates in stock. Personally, I order the 11x14 rectangle sheets from Parts Unlimited made by Factory FX. Hand-cut from there.
Street and Comp vends at the LRRS events but you could likely save a few bucks by going elsewhere as there is a premium at the track...even with your "racer discount".
Drain and *flush* the coolant. I couldn't tell you first hand but I've heard that ANY green in the cooling system will get you a temporary boot. Straight water is fine as are additives such as Water Wetter.
The 2010 LRRS rulebook is right here.
I registered last night.... WOW what a simple and easy and seamless process... awesome.
I'll be up thursday evening, I'll probably bring a small grill and some beers if anyone wants to chill at the alley. A little wrenching too, getting some new tires.
