nv and am season points are not posted anywhere so you dont even get bragging rights, nothing against the series. did do 5 weekends at NHMS in 09, even managed to bump to am. its a fun track and good atmosphere, met lots of good people. in my case the drive is just too much compared to the payout. NJMP is 75mi from home, summit 4hrs, loudon 5-6hrs. 2010 will probably be my only shot at #1 plate before going expert then it will never happen
No offense but if you are riding this fast you should be an EX to start the 2010 season. Consider this a 'call out' =]
Number of races entered or trackdays done has nothing to do with it. I guarantee you I had less laps around the track than you currently do before I bumped to Expert.
If you can 'easily' finish Top 3 in AM and are clearly 'cream of the crop' in the class then I can't for the life of me think of one reason not to bump. Otherwise you are just retarding your development as a rider and you obviously have ability (since you are going that fast with that little experience). Take it for what it's worth but I don't know one top rider (expert or pro) who's farted around in the lower ranks any longer than he needed to.
Here's a smiley face Justin so you know I mean it as good natured constructive feedback Here's another one
Hrm my goals?
Podium a motocross/supercross race.
Podium a Expert roadrace outside of LRRS.

Boston --> San Diego
I appreciate the feedback, and the call-out I do plan to bump EX this season. I wanted to get a round or two in at AM to get back up to speed. plus having a few offs running AM i dont wanna jump into EX and take a top EX out, not that i took anyone out in my offs.
F* it, who knows maybe i will just bump i havent renewed my license yet

Lemme tell ya... There's nothing quite like lining up directly behind/next to current & past class champions for the first time, especially when it's the first race of the year DO IT!!! I was nervous as hell when I did that last year, but it wa worth it. I learned a ton from it.

15 months on a motorcycle, went to ex my 8th race weekend that said... yea don't be afraid of the expert class. Its fun, the best and most consistent riders at the track, and they'll pull you into faster times than you even realize. Esp if you're leading the amateur ranks.
As for my goals....
1) Maybe do a weekend or two in LRRS
2) Start racing MX
3) Don't completely suck at MX
4) Try a hairscramble maybe?

Alex and Ryan have it spot on. Screw messing around and collecting more firewood. Bump to expert and start learning and improving just by racing better/faster/more expirenced guys. Your already faster than the slower experts and you will have guys to race with even if your a second or two off your best times. It makes no sense to mess around in Amatuer.
I bumped out of AM as soon as possible and again with Junior Expert, to be an expert in just over one year. Granted this was 1991/92
I started in 91 in August, on a 87 Hurricane 600, 2nd Weekend in 92 I was Junior Expert riding a CBR600F2, Did the Mid Ohio AMA 600 Supersport Round as an JR. Expert in August 92 (tagged along with my brother who was doing 250 GP in AMA, just for the expirence and qualified and finished 29th?) Last weekend of 92 I bumped to Expert. Went from winning Am and Jr. Expert Races to Finishing 9th -10th.
My goals in 2010? Have fun.
1) (pre season) Lose 20lbs and get in shape
2) Practice getting good starts
3) Get top 5 finish in a non-rain race in AM
3) Make every LRRS round, and NJMP CCS round
4) Get at least 3 races in a weekend w/ LRRS
6) Get into 17's
7) Try and follow Justin around for a lap before he moves up to expert

Havent "Officially" bumped yet...
When I emailed about the advancement sheet for this year, Don told me they werent doing one and they were going to start to go by lap times, and evaluate experience. He also said I was good to move up. I figure if I bust my ass the next 3 months and get in shape I can be competitive in AM. Should be a good season!
2010 season goals:
1) Actually race more than 50% of my races this year
2) Have sex in the treehouse before richie does
3) Finish top 3 at least one race
4) Beat my dad
5) Ride another track besides Loudon
basically the same shit I didn't do last year
