Heartbreak for Dani, man oh man, can this guy ever catch a break. It is almost inevitable for Pedrosa to not crash when he least needs to.
Good battle for the final podium position

I can't stand pedrosa so i am not heartbroken, sorry. Goes back to the days he dissed Nicky as just a bike development rider.

Great race. Although, even if pedrosa didn't crash, i think the best he would have done is second. I hate to see Rossi only making podiums because one of the three Spaniards crashed or didnt start. While a podium is a podium, i would like to see him go a full race with them and beat them.
Pedrosa does have the personality of a potato, but the guy can ride the heck out of that Honda, I just wish he hadn't crashed just to keep the series interesting till the very end.
I am impressed by the coverage from Fox Sports. Nice effort in educatiing new comers in the beginning of the show and the feeds seem better than ever too. Awesome slow motion coverage from multiple angles...
Great last couple laps...love the final 3 on the Podium!
Good stuff...!

Post race Marquez mentioned he may have rubbed Pedrosa's traction control sensor causeing him to crash. Interesting to see if anything comes of that.

“Unfortunately, it looks like they slightly touched each other and the sensor for rear wheel speed was broken,” Team Principal Livio Suppo confirmed.
I don't see how slightly touching pedrosa's bike could break the traction control cable/wiring... highly unlikely, isn't like those things just flap around waiting for somebody to catch their handlebars in them
it seems more like pedrosa over cooked it and got thrown on his ass...

Race wasn't all that exciting after Dani crashed out. That kind of sucked cause it finally looked like he was going to be competitive.

Pedrosa critical of Marc
Rumor has it that Yamaha team manager may be raising hell at the race direction about this "race incident". If he was guilty of that he would then be given more penalty points, which in theory would mean he starts from the back of the grid in the next race.
"“I was going into the corner. He was over the limit, completely missed the braking, tried to avoid me and at that moment touched me a little bit and went off. When I opened the gas, the cable of the traction control was broken so I had a big highside and couldn’t really avoid the crash, unfortunately.
“The positive part is that I am physically okay. I had a big impact on my hip and my lower back, but it is nothing really to worry about at the moment. I am just hoping to get physically well for the next race. I have zero points (as a result of the incident) but it wasn’t my mistake today - that is what I take from it.”

What do the racers on this forum think off the incident?

It looked like a pure race incident to me, Marquez thought he had an opening, checked up when Dani closed it, there was contact, both stayed upright. The freak disabling of Dani's TC is what turned it from a normal race bump into a highside. Had his TC been ok Dani would have pulled a small gap on MM as he lost time going off track and recovering.
I thik there is a lesson to be leared by the mechaics for all of the MotoGP, and other race series as well, teams.
Protect the sensors that are controlling the bike from launching your rider to the moon better than you currently are!
People "rub" all the time in these race classes and the fact that a sensor that is crucial to the safety of your rider, due to the excessive electronics on the bikes today, can be knocked off in such a minor incident is ridiculous. Either make it so the sensor can't be broken off or make it so the rider is responsible for thr traction of the bike and not a sensor.

What I take from this incident, more than anything else, is a pure visual example of how reliant on the technology MotoGP riders are these days. I really don't care for people saying I'm nostalgic, it takes something away from the sport of it when you are not seeing the riders, you are seeing the dollars.

Not that I give much credence to polls bt this one is interesting

40% in favor of no penalty and 40% in favor of max punishment
If your a diehard Yamaha fan and want Lorenzo to have a chance at the championship ... you want Marquez to receive the maximum punishment. I don't believe this pole has anything to do with the propriety/impropriety of the racing incident itself. My 2 cents .. rubbing's racing, nothing to see here.

I don't have anything against Dani, I like him out there, but this just popped up and I thought I would share.
