Anyone pre-registered or know what races they're doing?
I just registerd for the following
Sat - race #4 and #11
Sun - race #3 and #8
I'm planning to be up there for the practices on friday afternoon. My flight back from the gap gets in around 9:30 so I should have plenty of time. The bike is still in pieces and still primer grey, but I'm optomistic that it'll be running strong by then and maybe I can avoid the black flags this time.
Anyone doing the same races? Brian? Gordon?
Can't wait to see everyone. Let's pray for some nice weather this time.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I'm not going to pre-register this weekend, so none are entered yet.
I will be entering race #3 and #10 on Saturday and maybe #4 on Sunday. It's all weather dependant![]()

I think I'll be doing the Penguin Class that Friday, so I'll be up there.
I'm supposed to be getting my race bike this weekend, unless something comes up and delay's it.
Hopefully everything works out.

I'm hoping to do one or two on Sat and Sun, but I'm gonna have to wing it. My 7 year old son Gary goes in for surgery on Friday. Nothing major, but any time you go under anesthesia there's reason to worry. (especially if it's your kid)
If things go as expected (well) during the surgery, Gary wants me to go race...so I hope to be there.
Im thinking of cornerworking on SAT and maybe half day on Sun but im thinking races #8 and #11 on Sun
#11 for sure![]()
see if i can do a repeat performance of last time......(fingers crossed) ...hope im not getting in over my head![]()

so I got my bike completely back together like an hour ago. Started it up. Everything running fine. Flushing out the radiator for a little while. Start it up, rev it a couple times to bleed any air bubbles......look up. White fucking smoke!! Turned it off and then I don't reallly remember what happened. I don't know where the key is so I think I might have thrown it. I calmed down a little bit. Thought about this...nothing on the bike is the same. I've replaced EVERYtTHING. There is no way it can have the same problem. No possible way. And if it is the same problem I just wasted a ton of money and a straight week of personal time and labor to fix what wasn't wrong with it. If this thing is blowing smoke when I get back from the gap and I lose the $250 I just paid to pre-register I'm going to deadlift it over my head and throw it through argo's front window. Now after I calmed down a little. I'm hoping it was just smoke because it was cold out and the bike was cold......I can hope can't I?

It appears to be a white smoke, but smells like oilOriginally posted by Paul_E_D
Hessogood, White smoke out of the tailpipe? Remind me what you thought it was and what you did.
White smoke usually indicates burning raw fuel.
what I did was replace my engine that had 2000 miles on it from a salvage bike with an engine/airbox/throttlebodies from a bike with 200 miles on it and not salvage. Maybe it's the cheap VIP 10W-40 oil I'm running? The idle screw doesn't seem to adjust anything when I turn it also. I'm pretty possitive I made sure it was hooked up correctly when I installed the throttle bodies.

have you though about removing the exhaust? Maybe there is oil in it from it laying on its side or something?![]()

Or, depending on how conscientious they were, whoever sold you the engine may have fogged the cylinders before removing the engine, which would leave a bit of oil in there.
It doesn't take much oil to make an engine smoke like a bitch. When I did a compression check on my car, I dropped a half teaspoon of oil into each cylinder to check the rings. When I started the car back up it blew clouds of smoke for 5 minutes.
Do those things have a main engine computer? If so, have you swapped the one on the bike out for one that hasn't been in a wreck?![]()
You can withdraw from your race, they won't charge you, but you have to do it by Thursday. I've sweet talked them into it on Sat morn no prob.
We will find a bike for you to ride.
Remember: 3 things you need: compression, air/fuel, spark.
Do a leak down test.

did you pull the plugs on the last motor LIKE I TOLD YOU TOO!! and see if it was engine related IE: burning oil IN the cylinders , or if it was running funny?
