Damn dude, that's awesome! I hope he lets you. Are they even still doing an amateur achievement award? If so, I think I may stick with AM until the end of this season. Or maybe not.....
Though there is an amateur running ULSB who could run with the top experts who should move up first......
I drank a few to many beers last night and e-mailed Don to bump also..i hope i made the right choice
No AM achievement award. It went from a championship to an achievement to nothing. i think Vanson still sponsors the rookie of the year award though.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Race for your fastest lap.
If you happen to pass someone and it’s for position BONUS. I had planned to run last year as an AM with 14 races. That plan was dashed when I DNF in my first race weekend in T8. Not Fun. So I ended up with 13 races and the AA in ULSB. Auto bump. I am glad.Times are getting faster. Although some of the mid pack battles are very sketchy. Everyone is an EX and think they can do things that they really should not be doing. I sit and wait until they mess up and jump on the opportunity. This is with 4 races of experience as an EX.

thats how i race too....i dont try anything crazy. sometimes i'll late brake ppl into T6 and T1 (gotten pretty good with it) but anywhere else i pretty much wait for ppl to mess up and make sure i'm ready to slip around them when they do. keeps things safer that way.
so i was informed last night you need 10 races as a novice to move to amateur, and 13 races as an amateur to move to expert apparently.
i have 13 as a novice and 10 as an amateur
maybe don will let me bump anyway lol, if not...i'll do it after the next weekend
I haven't been able to find any records for index or races this year. Someone slacking in the office at LRRS?

I just tracked my own, made it easier than waiting on lrrs. i would just look at the historical results and put it in Excel.

I'm not picking on anyone or anything like that, but I think you guys are looking at the whole "racing" thing all wrong. When I go out to race, I wanna WIN!!!! Granted, lap times are important and lowering them is always a goal, but I wanna WIN!!! For some reason, it doesn't happen as often as I'd like, but that's still the goal. If you just wanna lower your lap times you can do that at track days.
Please don't take any of this as an attack, I just wanted to put up my thoughts on racing.
Mike, You've got a good reason.
Thanks for taking to fun out of things.
I know that this is not an a attack
The Fastest Hawk (other than letting a Wood on it) I know of ran a 19 and change. I'm within a second of that. This is one of my goals. To run 1:17-1:15 is far from my girl’s possibility unless I make a living out of racing 24/7. I don't think my 3rd & 5th are too shabby for a new expert with 2 year’s racing experience. 1st sounds better but there is also reality...
Maybe with more experience I could make thing interesting. For now I am proud to conceder myself an EXPERT.
Just for S & giggles. How long have you EXPERTS out there been racing?

I'M NOW AN EXPERT!!!!
haha i just got an email back from Don, even though i'm short a couple of races (apparently you need 12 as an AM and I only have 10) he let me bump up anyway because of my lap times.
i'm excited![]()
CONGRATS!! Good to hear...now get some damn suspension in that bike!
