I have a problem with this. You know if you've seen my bike in the last 2 years. What is the secret? I always get bubbles and creases under spots that cover lines in the bodywork.
The secret is a spray bottle with warm water and a couple drops of baby shampoo. You spray the plate wet as well as the adhesive. This makes it slideable til its perfect then you need a squeegee to smooth out the bubbles.
Same way window tint goes on.
Squeegee gently at first the harder to squeeze out water. Then let it dry.
Yep a little soap and water works great, if you still get a bubble take a small pin and pop it.. Works for me..
a hairdryer works well too. heat up the vinyl to make it a bit more plyable to help bubbles escape and creases to smooth

I use Mequiar's detailing spray instead of soap for applying decals. It dries a bit faster once squeegeed.

When using separate number plates and numbers, do people apply the numbers to the plate first and then apply the whole thing as one piece to the bike?
I'd do background first, THEN apply numbers on top of it.
I'd offer to help with advice, but, uh, you've seen my bikes. I left the clear overlay on my individual numbers for a couple rounds before I realized it was only there to apply them.![]()

If you are really that concerned about it, bring your bike and supplies to the RSP Racing/Pirelli garage on Thursday or Friday night and I will help you with this. It is pretty easy once you get the hang of it =)

I would do what Michael says. Otherwise you'll have to listen to me tell you that you should have used duct tape![]()

I bought a 10' roll of vinyl and I now have a 'spare' tail section, so I'll probably do a practice run with the advice above. If that fails horribly I will take you up on that offer Michael!
10 feet of vinyl. Man, that's at least 3 or 4 crashes.
There is clear overlay on numbers? I had no idea.
