I will need to purchase new bodywork for my 2009 R6 after this season has ended as I want to have a nice custom paint job done for next season. BTW, my existing bodywork is a bit rashed and close to the end of it's useful life.
I read over on the R6 Forum that many had complaints about Armour Bodies fitment. For example, many complained about how very tight the belly pan fit around the exhaust headers. All said that the pipes were coming in contact with the fiberglass, which can have obvious adverse effects on the paint and body work.
Does anyone here have any expereince with Armour Bodies?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

No experience on an R6 but I've had two sets on my SV.... easy to install, crashes well, great quality and my paint guy loved working with it. Took the paint with virtually zero prep.

Armour Bodies is top notch stuff. Had it on my SV and it held up great.
Currently have it in my 08 R6. I'm running an Akrapovic full system. When I built the bike I had a bit of contact with the headers, but loosening and repositioning them fixed it and they haven't touched in two years. It just took a minute to get the headers settled properly. Not all exhausts are routed the same. When I was shopping I remember reading that the Leo Vince hung a bit lower and contacted the belly pan
The leo does hang lower on my 06. I had to install some padding/dissipative stuff in the belly pan to stop from burning.

Have a set of Sharkskinz (primary) and a set of Armour Bodies (spare) for my '08 R6 on which I run a Graves full Ti system. I've run both sets and don't have any complaints about fitment with either. Both are top notch bodywork manufacturers.![]()

Good stuff!
Thanks to all for your responses. I will go ahead and order some Armour Bodies.
Now, who knows of a good paint shop and someone who can repair my dented fuel tank?

I dont know about paint but check out BikeSkins.com they make custom Vynil bike wraps for under $400. I got mine from there and it took me a heat gun and about a full day to install looked so good every one always says WOW great paint job. I have to tell them its a wrap. they can add your sponsors, Team logo name and everything and anything you can think of, for way less than paint will run you. plus in my opinion a wrap also helps keep the body work together in the event of a crash. a little added protection. they have a lot of pre designed stuff on the site but if you contact Paul him self (contact on website) shoot him your ideas he will design from scratch for a few more dollars.

If you want it to look perfect, check out peach pit. but it costs $$$$
If you want it to look great but cost less, check out Dana Temple, he runs the rental bikes for penguin and I've seen the magic he can work with a fuel tank.
If you want to spend even less than that, I'll do it for you. My paint will look good from 20' or 20 mph, but not like Dana's or Peach pit. It'll be cheap though, and 2 part urethane auto paint not crappy single stage that will bleed when you spill gas on it.
Thanks again for the repsonses!
I don't want to spend too much on a perfect paint job as I will, most likely, crash a couple of times during the course of a racing season. So, I may do a wrap. But, I may also call Mark for a tank repair and decent paint job.
After this weekend, I've got a few months to figure it all out and be ready to go in April of 2014. At least I have some direction now.
I'll start a new thread for my suspension questions........

I have a guy who wil hook you up cheap if you strike out otherwise. Feel free to stop by South garage #11 to check out his paintwork. Both of my R6's were painted by him and he was def cheap.
