Where do I submit my résumé?

Wood is going to lap you unless you plan on picking up 5 seconds this weekend:)

Im good with that. Hopefully I can magically figure out how to launch the bike this weekend. If I dont have to fight through the field the first lap I might be able to keep up.

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
699, pm me if you want some power for this coming weekend.
Alex - please don't make loudon out to be a fantastic track for road racing... YET. But c'mon... a gesture of "no gate fees this weekend" or "free for spectators this weekend" would be more than fair.

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
You should all do a WERA weekend
Race Fees
Entry Fee
Camping/Power Fee
Transponder Rental Fee
Higher Practice Costs
My trip to VIR with WERA cost me about 200 more (gas not included) than typical Loudon weekend.

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
So what of the Center garages, power or no power for this weekend?
.

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
As long as you all continue to function as dozens of different race teams all working independently, you won't have a voice and information won't be communicated effectively. One of the reasons NASCAR works so well is that despite the fact that there are multiple race teams, they have unified representation. Its been echoed a million times, but I'll say it again: If you want anything to change at the track, you're going to need to find someone to represent the racer's interests and act as a liason between the powers that be and all of the different race teams.

I hearby nominate Jackie :jackie: as the LRRS Track Facilities Liason. Do I get a second?
Wait, what? I didn't know I had to be a racer to post in this thread ;)

I'm not a racer, but I have quite a few friends who would benefit from some type or organization. This isn't just about electricity or the fact that the infield looks like the Big Dig, its also about safety, convenience, race attendance, etc. There needs to be some type of organization and a unified voice. If one racer says "I'm pissed off, I'm not going to race." no one gives a shit. If all of the racers say "We are not going to race unless things improve." its a much different story. But wtf do I know.

didn't the AMA already try this approach?

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:

Yes, but the AMA Racing Committee spent more time fighting than anything else. They couldn't even agree on how the committee should be run (from what I know... I'll admit my knowledge is limited). AMA is a huge organization and is much more difficult to organize than a small club racing series.

The problem being, with all the everything going on, both at the track, and economy and everything, theres a good chance if we tried that, the track would say, welp see ya later.

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
SON OF A BITCH!!!
I assume that we'l still be paying for the garage this weekend..
First no intercom so I can't tell where the hell I'm supposed to be on my first race weekend. Yea, that was fun.
Now we don't have any electricity? Lovely!

Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
Sorry to be alittle off topic but Anyone know the policy if you leave shit up there in a garage? I called and emailed Wanda with no response. I left an Amsoil box up there in garage 9-10 with abunch of shit in it and would love for it not to be thrown away...think they clear the place out or might have it?
-
Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
Everyone needs to STOP getting there panties in a bunch. The info you are getting off the "internet" is NOT 100% accurate.
-
Re: ATTENTION IN THE HADDOCK:
There's an off chance that they may have it up front or in the scales garage. Maybe Sandy may have noticed it and brought it home. You can always ask.
Unfortunately, unless someone put it aside, there's a good chance it got thrown out. The guys who clean up don't really know what their looking at. They just assume it's junk if you left it behind. Some of the weirdest stuff get's left at the track. Some people treat it as their personal dumping ground.

it's gone.
but hey, look at the bright side... rock band has been a blast! I thought I wouldn't touch it until winter, but one test run on the drums, and I'm semi-hooked

I think that's kind of the point... where are people supposed to get this information? If it were disseminated in an organized fashion and everyone could go to one place for updates, it would be one thing, but when you have a track that doesn't see a need to keep its patrons updated on things that directly effect their ability to race, it leads to rumor and speculation.
