Needs a little work, but i think you could get it running and looking good for a couple hundred bucks... somebody snag this!

If the valves are that bad, you'll at least need new seats. I'd bet 3 years without an adjustment, that's not gonna look good on the head. Figure about 5-800 to get it minted out, still a good deal if the rest is in good shape. Jim Pijeon did a great job on mine, and ran me through everything that it needed, would need and what to keep an eye on.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
what a pile of shit!

HA! I'd tackle it if it was a 2 smoke.

ya no offence meant, just no matter what the price it looks like its a hunk of shit...very well could become a good bike with 800 into it who knows.

where in MA do you live/ride?
I ripped through the trails behind my house a little with my cousin this weekend, He was on the TTR and I took out the 450 (figured one dirty ride couldn't hurt). Result: the trails were WAY too tight for a 450 haha... it's too hard to steer with the front wheel of the ground. I would have loved to hold out for FI, but I'm suprised at how much ballsier the 450 than my 426's were. The 250f is def all the bike I need for the dirt, thanks to some convincing from hessosmart. Is it bad if I take the ttr230 through the trails more than the 250f? the thing is like a lazyboy over the rough stuff!
I'm in waltham, MA just outside boston. I usually ride at crowhill or just races really. Only free places I ride are my friend brodys house and templeton trails/sandpits he has shown me...those are pretty fun too
