Before the Bowl...

Saturday was very hot and full of crashes (including myself in Turn 2)...not the best day for me to have my mother there for the very first time...

Was my very first novice race (#3, which ended up getting postponed until the end of the day and I wasn't able to stick around )

Anyway, there was somebody who crashed coming up over the hill before the bowl... the crash happened right at the top of the hill, and the bike and rider both went end over end, rag-doll like...and didn't stop until they almost reached the bowl.

Anybody know who that was and how they are doing? I know the rider was down for awhile, but I believe he ended up being able to get up on his own...

Not quite sure what caused the crash either...

Hoping he is okay.

There were three bikes dicing it up through T3+4, not sure what happened further up the hill.

tsanterre he took a ride in to IMC but was back out there later that day. I forget if he crashed again that day or the next but either or, he was back out there. I think I saw him wandering around after his second incident and was still fine at that point too

It was a long weekend. I was working in T10 / T3 and that 3rd race was a mess! Glad most of you made it out of it with just some bruises.

I was one of the guys who crash in t3, I was ruining 8 or 9, one of the guys in front went down an take one other rider with him, everything happen so fast, I didn't have room to go around so I run over one of the bikes........was crazy.... Riders taking 3 different lines going into 3,........ I never see anything like that at loudon....no in t3.......no when u are a novice......

My friend Mike has like 10 sequence shots of this crash actually happening, and the rider going rolling along the pavement. The shots were sick! Pretty sure it was #616 or 636...can't remember exactly.

I was flagging 5 when he crashed. He was down for a bit, but got into the ambulance under his own power. I think he went back out later, but am not positive.

I was in race 3 and yes, he came back out for the restart later in the day. I asked how he was and he said he was good.
I do not know if he crashed again tho... but i was glad to see he was okay after his crash going down into the bowl. It was a pretty nasty get off...

If anyone knows if he crashed again later that day please post it up here... if he did i hope he is okay....

His name is Stew, Blacksquirrel here. He got clipped coming over 5 and went down hard and fast. I saw him end of day and was fine.

He didn't get clipped......Here is exactly what happened....I was in the race took 3rd and he was in front of me swooping all over he said I quote "I tend to use all of the track" OK.....well I passed him and another blue bike, I am on the right coming over the hill he is in the middle and the other guy is back off to the left. I had already pass him by about half a bike staying in my line straight up over and he swoops across and hits the side of me catching the front leaver on my leg or side and washed out the front....red flag flew..

I spoke to him after he was ok and thought he got hit from behind but was knocked out and didn't really recall it. Had some minor rash...but was ok....

PIGMAN - I was in race #3 as well, but wasn't able to stick around for the re-scheduled time (looks like it was about 5:30pm)? The crash I originally posted about happened earlier on that afternoon... were you describing this guys second crash in race #3?

Yup......after turn 3 almost top of the hill....not the 20 Car pile up that cut the race off till 10A....

Thanks for the details.....from my angle at the flag stand it looked like he just fell over (no one looked even remotely close to him), so when I heard that he was clipped I was very skeptical. Your description makes more sense compared to what I saw.

Yup, Stu's one of my pit mates. He took a good tumble but was alright. His leathers twisted & gave him some nice rash on his right shoulder & arm, but they didn't tear open or anything. It was just some nice leather burn. As others have said already, he went out & raced later that day.

And for what it's worth, we talked to him about using the whole width of the track over 5. I imagine he won't be doing that again

For those that are reading this, DON'T USE THE FULL WIDTH OF THE TRACK BETWEEN 4 AND THE BOWL!!! I crest the hill smack dab in the middle and don't even come close to the right edge of the track. Even as I tip in for 6 I'm a good 10 feet away from the edge. You do NOT need to use the full width!
