...these have just been mandated by Moto GP. When I first showed my idea to John Ulrich he thought that in a couple years that the AMA would do so as well. There was at least one ugly crash this year on the front straight at Loudon that was the result of a brake lever getting bumped....thoughts?

I dig.
So when are we gonna see Woodcraft stickers on the GP bikes?![]()

.....not exactly in my marketing budget.
Sooooo 2013, then?
On a more serious note:
The chances of your brake lever getting inadvertantly hit aren't all that big, but if it happens, the chance the results end up being catastrophic are high.
The preventative solution that Woodcraft offers is simple, affordable and its use has virtually zero negative impact on the rider or the bike.
I think it's a great idea and I'll be ordering one up in the off season.

I'm already budgeting for a set for 2012. Had I known how my project would be progressing earlier I would have been in on the initial batch, d-oh!
only positives here. I plan on buying them this winter also.

Does having shortie levers help at all?
My thought is I'm getting some too![]()
one of the 1st times on the track coming out of the bowl someone took off jacks brake lever with his shoulder...I asked him why the heck he was pitting in and he just pointed to the missing lever and gave me one of these incredulous looks....been all fun and games since then
That's a small detail that we have not talked about much with our guards...when I use barkbusters in the woods I always like the ones that dip down at 30 degrees right off the bar (as opposed to the straight ones) because they never bothered my hand. This is why we made our hand guards that same way. It definitely makes a difference.

I can't say that I've actually seen these yet. Got any pics?
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I never understood why these didn't come out a long long time ago. does anybody remember the capirossi and melandri crash at catlunya in 06? everyone got very very lucky in that accident

Isn't that what caused Westby to go down on the last lap at Daytona? Seeing how so much of racing is mere inches from one rider to the next, these guards are a great idea. Has JU decided to use these on his team bikes?
I think it's a great idea. I also will be ordering a set over the winter.
