i dont have any experience w/ them personally but my buddy george just put some in his 05 gsxr600 race bike and raved about how they solved all the clutch problems he had. (i'm pretty sure they were hyperplates, he got them from S&C too).

I use Cryodized aluminum drive plates on the HAWK.

    They sound similar.

What are “Cryodized” aluminum drive plates? The process of deep cryogenic tempering involves treating the plates at minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit to improve the properties. Deep Cryogenic Tempering creates a significant increase in abrasive wear resistance and durability. The end results are a longer life and less chance of breakage. The plates are then hard anodized for added durability. These plates will not contaminate the oil like typical plain aluminum plates. They are also about one-third the weight of steel drive plates resulting in less rotating mass in the clutch assembly and quicker throttle response. Recommended for racing applications only

THey are lighter and supposedly work better and in theory would give more power/accelleration ...but do they not have the "life" that stock steels have.

I had a set in a bike I built for Jesse Janisch to race back in 05 (GSXR750) and they exploded in daytona and took the whole motor with it.... alum in the bearings, crank, rods, pistons, oil pump etc.

Jeff Wood has used them and had similiar problems by running them too long. His cracked and broke but didnt grenade like mine.

If you use them keep track of the mileage and it couldnt hurt to double check with the manufacturer to see what the recommended lifetime is.
