Saturday
-----------------
Practice - Didn't ride any. Mount my first pair of slicks (pretty) and stare forlornly at my unridden bike.
Race 5 LWSM - Start front row, 7th by Turn 1. Attempt first corner on new bike, make it thru. Watch front runners disappear. Blow out every corner, ride like a chode, reel 5th and 6th in. Pass Heath in T3, go say hi to the tirewall, jump curb, mentally tell Heath to 'fuck off' as he wags his finger at me 'no no no' going up T4. Repass Heath. Finish 4th.
Sunday
--------------
Practice - Semi-Wet. Never ridden in the wet before. Go out on slicks, slide around a bunch. Smile and cackle wildly.
Race 8 ULSB - Drizzling at start. On slicks. Swear. Flub start, follow sketchy Aprillia for 2 laps. Watch Chris (1st) disappear on his rains. Note I can't see dick thru my foggy shield, swear. Take 2nd, watch Chris get bigger. Pass Chris lap lap in Turn 11. Win. Smile. Look sheepish at Chris on cooldown lap.
Race 11 Motard - Track seems dry. Flub start (note: Pattern here). Watch 1st and 2nd take off. Start reeling them in. Learn to back it into Turn 3. Smile ALOT. Make pirate noises in my helmet since I can only see out of one eye most of race (fog). ARRRR. Pass guy in 2nd. Cya. Pass guy in 1st on last lap while sideways backing it into 3. Laugh. Use Joel as a blocker going into 6. Laugh somemore. Win. Wonder where guy in 2nd went. (crashed out in 12).
Overall good time. Laptimes were junk but considering I had NFI what I was doing and the track/weather was shite I guess I'll take it. 1.23.4 kneedown (saturday), 1.23.4 footout (sunday). Found out it's amazingly difficult to ride proficiently when you can't see and my Mark I Eyeball can't penetrate foggy plastic. Also duct tape across your nose piece is a good idea until it flys off on lap 3 and gets stuck up against the inside of your visor, effectively turning your 52" HD plasma into a 4" portable beach tv.
I like my motard.
I'm going to really miss LRRS and you guys.
I'll be back for the Classic.

Very impressive riding Alex. Humbling. For your first time on the bike period, I think you have to be pretty pleased. You we're hauling some serious acorns out there. I'm pissed I didn't get to see you backin' it into 3, or talking like a pirate into your helmet. I'm sure your going to give the west-coast supermoto scene hell on that thing.
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Damn man. Way to A) ride the wheels of a bike you've never even sat on and B) doing it on slicks, in the wet. Woot. Congrats on the wood!

lol thx man. I felt like the thing was 10' out but according to my old man and Bob Stone it was only out 4-6". Still thou, it feels super awesome, totally new riding feeling and I've been riding all types of 2-wheeled things for a while now. Started to figure out how to do it around lap 4 (accident) and by lap 6 - 8 I was trying to do it on purpose with minimal success.
You asked about T3 on the motard in that other thread so here's what I was trying.. still a work in progress. Note this is for Sunday's Foot Out style.. I think on Saturday with the better conditions I had more rollspeed midcorner kneedown but I also blew the turn a bunch and felt less in control at the turn-in. But that whole race Saturday was a shitshow.. soo.. it's stricken from my learning process until next time.
Full throttle to about 25-30% into Cone Chute.
Clutch in, throttle off, brakes on.
Downshift twice to 2nd gear. (still braking)
Just past midway point of chute (70% in) start letting clutch out (still braking)
Back end slides around (still braking)
Let everything off at turn in cone, tip in.
Get on gas at apex.
Repeat.
The back end doing that slows the bike down noticably more than just Front Brake. Not once did I feel like I was going to blow T3 even thou I was going deeper and faster into it. Those badass supermoto guys are nuts!

i had the same pirate problem as you only it was more like tunnel vision. i KNOW there was a guy trying to stuff me up the inside but i couldnt see him.

omg no shit man how fucked up is that?! I made my first move on the leader in the motard race heading down the hill into 6. I passed him on the 'straight' on his left and thought I was set then he just APPEARED in front of me as we turned into the corner. My right side was totally blind. Talk about a strange strange feeling. Not to mention the depth perception issues![]()
You did pretty awesome for roadracing a amphibious vehicle.![]()

Looks like you are sucking on a banana cock.
You really need to put a High Water mark on the tank with the date.
