Here's the deal: Roger Edmundson was supposedly getting together with NHMS for a return of the AMA, but didn't seem interested in following through. Recall Jerry Gappens' speech at the banquet when he said, "The AMA doesn't give a shit about you!"?
Jim France finally realized that Roger was screwing the pooch big time with his investment, so Roger got a big "fuck off" check and is out of the picture. I met David Atlas at Daytona and when he found out I was with LRRS, he gave me his card and told me that the AMA is "very anxious" to return to Loudon. He understands that Roger pissed off Jerry and is ready to seriously negotiate.
This is a fresh initiative with all new players.

The AMA isn't coming back until the concrete walls get moved elsewhere. Whichever adjective(s) you wish to use in order to describe the level of the AMA's interest in coming back to NHMS, fine, but until those walls go away, interest and hope is all that will occur.

Congrats Scott. I was up there Friday and saw you racing/practicing and thought you looked like you weren't gonna settle for 2nd this weekend. Wish I could have been there.

Congrats Scott for your win. I missed it but heard it was great

AMA? Yeah right... What I wanna know is where are the 150 Air fences that were "stuck" at the airport LAST classic weekend mentioned at the riders meeting. Did they somehow disappear? Loudon is far too lacking in safety and I don't blame AMA one bit. Its all we have though. Wish someone
would stand up and petition this safety issue.........

    Again Scott Great job!!

Re: Congratulations to Scott Greenwood on his win of the 87th Loudon Classic!

I think those are all the "white" airfence bags.

As far as the track goes.... yes its dangerous...but shit they all are in their own way. Riders hit walls at VIR, and that track is considered safe with plenty of run off.

And Specifically... NHMS has stepped up over the last few years and continued to purchase Air Fence. I would guess they have spent alot more than most race tracks in buying their own Air Fence. Most track owners will not spend any money and thats where RoadRacing World steps in with their fund.

AMA wants to come back because they want this Northeast Market share. NJMP was highly attended last year because this area of the country hasnt had a semi local race in years. So sure AMA wants to comeback... but will they with the current track and configuration? The Superbikes are a bit Dumbed down since DMG took over. But the reality is a GSXR1000 in Superstock/AMA Superbike trim is still a handful around our track.

In this economy, I doubt NHMS will be building a new track for roadcourse only anytime soon.

Poor Christian had to suffer the humility of not being up to get his tire lit up - at best his clutch was the one worse for the ware from the sound of him riding away.

Congrats Scott! I haven't had the opportunity to meet you in person but I have watched you run around the track a few times and I agree with everyone here; you make it look so effortless.
