I am happy to report that my suggestion at the rules meeting regarding number displays has been included in the rulebook. (See 5.2) Please help make it easier to see them around the track.
Look over the entire document to see if there are any questions.
I have already pointed out the discrepancy in the numbering of the practice sessions.

I posted this to NEAR as well, but the text in ULSB makes it sound like Hawks are no longer legal?
Answered at NEAR. CCS decided to allow SV650's in the class this year, the EX Mafia raised a stink! Grids aren't that big around the rest of the country, but ours are good enough to exclude the SV650. I guess the NT650 is collateral damage.
Check out the new Middleweight Production Twins, though.

Ah, well... that actually works for me if I go through with one plan... and I like that LRRS is allowing any displacement four stroke single, as long as it's not a motard in the 125GP class. I know where there is a sweet TZ250 chassis based build for reasonable money... I'd have to get someone to buy the GS and my 'B' mini to swing it though...

This is ULSB as written in the LRRS 09 rulebook:

Two stroke, air cooled, unlimited displacement
Twin cylinder, air cooled, non-desmodromic valves up to 900cc
Twin cylinder, air cooled, desmodromic valves, up to 805cc
Twin cylinder, liquid cooled, pre-1999 model year, up to 800cc
Three cylinder, air cooled, non-fuel injected, up to 900cc
Four cylinder, liquid cooled, pre-1987 model year, up to 570cc
Four cylinder, liquid cooled, 1987 to 1992 model year, up to 500cc
Four cylinder, air cooled, up to 750cc
Harley-Davidson Sportsters of unlimited displacement

the Ultralight class at Loudon
Hawk's are fine. That last line is for SV's specifically. Hawk's fall under the line I highlighted in bold.

Boston --> San Diego
This is new as well
Group 3A-125’s, Motards, Singles, EX’s, Ultralight Twins (Novice)
Group 4— 125’s, Motards, Singles, EX’s, Ultralight Twins (Am/Ex combined)
Looks like I'll be able to practice with Gino, Doc, Stone, Bob, etc. Last year Hawk's were in the 650 twin practice.
Boston --> San Diego
I know I learned a lot chasing those SV and EX 650's and 1000's last year.
This year I'm looking at playing with you you all again. This is cool.

They need to specifically say SV and EX 650 instead of all 650's

I pointed out the session number thing to Don. He replied that his site has the more current book ( http://www.raceloudon.com/ Click on "Rules" in left margin.)

Here we go, from the CCS rulebook at their site:
Note the two separate lines for the non specific year 650's and the 1999 model year and older bikes. Don removed the newer bikes and posted that they were excluded from LRRS. I think it's safe to interpret that the old Hawks are still allowed.ULTRA-LIGHT SUPERBIKE (Amateur & Expert Divisions)

Johnny,
Can you explain why the new class MW production twins ( stock SV650 ) has been added in the same race as LW supersport (sunday race 10)?
seems like that would split the group not add another race.
on rule 7.5 does anyone know the approved additives for coolant? Says to use water but there will be a list of approved additives. Anyone know what those were previously from 08 or anything? Engine Ice?![]()

i think water wetter was the only approved one. engine ice= bad and tough to clean up. don't quote me though, i havent raced in a year nor have i read the new manual (or last years for that matter)

ive always used Cool-aid or engine ice. the label says its legal for motorsports.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

TRACKS:Firebird/NHMS/VIR/Calabogie/California Speedway/NJMP/MMC/NYST/Palmer/Thompson/Club Motorsports
When does the so-called fax race start for the first weekend? Or when does pre-reg open, or whatever it's called?
Engine ice is not one of the approved coolants/additives.
I had engine ice, I called them and asked and they said it was ok for the penguin school but not for racing.
I drained mine and went to distilled/wetter. (edit: actually, I went to Mocool, the Motul equivalent of water wetter. same thing though.)
However, I have a clear-ish plastic overflow bottle in which can clearly be seen if a fluid is blue or clear... you probably don't on the SV so you haven't been bothered about it...
