I'm going to find a talent scout, and rob him.....
“It's 2 minutes for any capable adult.”
Slipper clutch for sure.
Looking into any engine maintenance....new belts, possibly bearings.
Other than that just some new bodywork and a good paint job.

The SHOCK swap certainly isn't all that great, but a gsxr front end is alright. It IS a little stiff for the 2nd gen which may lead to chatter & maybe some other oddities once you get faster, but the 1st gens do a little better with them. Plus you get the added benefit of better brakes.
However, you're right, the stock fork legs do work better with the rest of the chassis if you gut out the internals and go with a cartridge set-up.

On my list is a head rebuild and this illustrious cam swap I hear about.

mmhmm... Chuck you missed some races due to financials, maybe you should save the $ and bank up some reserves for late-season racing 2011.
Another ~5 seconds and you can go for the springy bits... just my .02
Your $, do what you want, just trying to give you good advice, and it's likely what I would do in your same situation

Chuck, do what ya want, it's your money, but I didn't ditch the emulators for cartridges until this season. Last winter was the first time I started spending any money on trick bits. Up until then it was all just a basic set-up.
Shopping list priotorities are suspension rebuilds front & rear, oil changes, brake fluid flushes, brake pads, chain & sprockets if necessary.... THEN start messin around with mods.
