BEST EZ-UP Recommendation

Had my lightweight EZ-UP (no name brand lightweight version) get its leg broken off during one of the wind gusts Thursday last week. Now I'm looking for something more solid. Anyone have a recommendation for its replacement?

I like the 5 gallon bucket tie down option I saw around the infield. That's one way of reducing load in the trailer. Any other EZ-UP tips?

No personal experience, but a lot of the dirty guys seem to use a large gas jug instead of the 5-gal bucket. One less thing to carry...

To answer the original question I have had my Caravan brand canopy for at least 8 years and it is still working fine. They also sell replacement parts in case something happens. Products | Caravan Global Inc. It is beefier than the majority of the canopies that I see at Loudon and lasts longer as a result.

A long time ago (15 years now?) I bought a Caravan brand pop-up canopy at Costco ... believe they still sell them (Link). I thought it was/is pretty well constructed (assuming they haven't changed much). Mine has survived a few of those VIR mini-hurricane thunderstorms (if you've been there you know what I mean). The 5 gallon Home Depot bucket tie downs, full gas jugs or spare wheels (if you have enough) are good options, but if you're ever at VIR its all hands on deck ... we had seven guys holding onto mine during one storm and it started to lift us off our feet!

Pretty sure that link is the exact unit I have and if it is it may cost a little more but it is worth it in durability.

I absolutely love my Crafstman canopy. It's a lot more solid than my old EZ-Up. Has a tall peak too which keeps water from pooling which was common on my last canopy.

I use canopy weights filled with stone dust and ratchet straps to my truck bumper for anchors.

Back when I first got an ezup I waited until I saw one in a trash can with one broken side, grabbed it, then went out & bought the exact same make/model.

Boom... free spares.

Tying/weighing down the ends is key no matter how much it costs. My $200 EZ-UP got mangled pretty quick the first time I did a shit job of securing it to the pavement.
