I am going to put some SuMo wheels on my 250F and run the next 2 NESC (North East Supermoto Challenge) rounds.
I have been chatting with the organizer who looks to have her head on straight, and is hoping to get AMA support for 2012 and run a 7 or 8 round series.
They have open practice every weekday (including the friday before these races).
The 4 hour endurance race of air-cooled bikes that has been mentioned here before, and many LRRS guys attend is running the following day after each of these 2 NESC racedays.
Novice classes are 250/450/open. 17" are not required AFAIK, so sportsman tires will work if you want to "test waters".
Dirt section will be incorporated.

Funds are tight...but maybe october.

I'll be there both days. Hoping to get down there next Friday for practice too.
"When there's a gap you either commit yourself as a professional racing driver that is designed to win races or you come second or you come third or come fifth, and I'm not designed to come third, fourth, or fifth. I race to win, and if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver."

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Your path is out in west cuddybumfuck.
But thanks for the offer!
Edit: that might read like I was being rude. 'tis not the case.

I do suck. But standing next to my ugly ass, you'd probably look that much prettier.

Waiting for my brembo bracket to show up. Looking forward to seeing if I need to shave down the caliper at all for spoke clearance.
