    Gearing - Miller & Barber....

I've ridden at Miller. We rode 2 tracks, the East and the West, and then the 2 combined into 1 track for the last day. It is much wider and faster than Louden. The East track is tighter than the West. I road the short tracks on an R1 in mostly 2nd and 3rd, with some upshifts to 4th on the straights. On the combined track the straight is something like .8 of a mile long, all the way up into 6th then. Hope that might help a little.

Oh, my bike is down one in front, and up 2 in the back for gearing. I was seeing 140 + on parts of the short tracks, and way up there on the big track.

Good point, I just checked, will be running the east track only, so no HUGH straights and more turns. Thanks for the tip !!

I liked the East track the best of the 3 configurations. It has some elevation change and is really smooth and flowing. Have fun!

Barber isn't that much faster than Loudon. Maybe 1 or 2 smaller in the back.

Great info, thanks everyone !! I bascially want to spend the time riding as much as possible instead of playing with gearing. Having a decent base to start with get it narrowed down goes a long way.
