I just totalled up my race weekend and it's round $410.00 and I am not even to the track yet. That's 4 races friday practice track entry fee.................yata yata.
I know I know that's cheap compared to some guys weekends. But gawd damn. I am glad that I only have one weekend after this left and I can bank away some loot for racing over the off season.
So I guess if it's say 500 a weekend all said and done X 8 race weekends = $4000. I think I can save that over the off season.
I mean it's all worth it but when you actually sit down and put it on paper. But all in all it's a drug, it's addicting, and now I know why I have waited so long for this. Damn track demon!!! I keep chasing him. Is someone going to have an intervention with me? I mean if I spent 500 a weekend on hookers and drugs some would say I had a problem right? I am confused.
Thank god I am rich![]()

Try adding another $350 a weekend for tires. If I do 4 races, I need to buy 2 rear tires so thats about $480 for tires.
Your riding a dirtbike that crashes well too.
Most bikes can easily have $400 damage when they crash.
Are you running race fuel too?
I spend another $75 for my bikes U4 race fuel.
I have definately had plenty of weekends cost me about $800 all said and done.
It is a drug, it is addicting, it is expensive....But it is also the best high I have ever got!

I used to budget about a grand per weekend and hope to stay within reason.
I hope to stay under $300 shortly. That includes gas, entry for 3 races and tires (2 sets per season on an EX).
Once you get the initial investment out of the way, it's not that bad.

It gets pricey. I bought warmers last event weekend. And rain tires. Then I proceeded to crash twice. Yeah, fucking pricey isn't the way to describe it. Absolutely worth it, though.![]()

$300 a weekend is all I am going to be able to talk the wife into when I start.
That is still like $2500 a year!!

I literally have the money subtracted from my pay check! It goes into my saving account, that is my budget. So far it runs me about $4500 in running cost + setup cost + crash costs = empty savings account. I don't run the cheapest bike , but it does seem to be durable, runs on regular gas and believe it or not low in maintenance. It doesn't hurt as much when you budget for it. Overall it is worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. Great people (you find this out especially when you crash I found out) and no better high out there!![]()

last year per weekend i did...
entry fee-$20
2 races-$100+ (depending on pre reg and/or GT races)
gas-$10
food-$20
tires-$300+ (only changed them twice)
so per weekend i was doing about $150+, not this year thoughi hoping to be back to that budget next year
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
