I believe it was this past Moto GP that they mentioned that they were running a hard front and a Medium rear.I thought this was a no no.
I'm guessing the track is so hard on front tires in the breaking and turns they needed a little extra life OR they want a little front end slip.
Discuss!!!!

I just ran a Medium Front and Supersoft Rear this last race weekend ... LOVED IT!
The front felt more stable under trail braking that I was able to trail further than I have before. Then the supersoft rear, what can I say ... GRIP!

Did your chatter go away?
Hmmm?
Tire compound?
Tire construction?
Less flex?
Stability?

it was more stable for sure under heavy braking
The transitions where a little quicker too because of less flex ... thought I only noticed in 1a to 2 and the chicane obviously.

Jamie - I'm not blaming tire, but I had some front end push in 10 last weekend on S and SS... I am fearing going to a harder front will only add to this... Any comment?
It was happening off the gas, just at the end of or after any trail braking, and 15 ft/1 sec before cracking the throttle to get the front end light over the whoop section.
My suspension is loosely bounced in from mike right now (since I forgot to make reference of my changes at the last rain weekend of '08), so it could be coming from somewhere else... totally made me check speed and lose confidence in 10 though. Had a very odd save once, front pushed a LOT (I think I may have gone over the oily new patch) - thuoght I was going down, but somehow recovered.
Pirelli fronts can seemingly slide forever without throwing you down.
Kitt, Cracking the throttle really early helps a lot in 10. Like up by the concrete wall on the left of the track. Settles everything early for the bumps and helps get some turning done before the bumps as well. Could solve the push problem to boot. Do you brake there on a clean lap? I don't think that's necessary.
In 10 there is the patch where the bump was before the apex. This had very little traction compared to the rest of the pavement. I felt my front slide there many times if I just touched the corner of it. I had to make sure I came in tighter around 9 to avoid the patch.

I brake hard on the curb of 9 (think im doing ok there)... then throttle through 9, sometimes I check speed (prob lack of sack) as I flick into 10. Even when I don't check speed, I'm not cracking the throttle that high... I could - but my brain is telling me lightening up the front where the front is already sliding may be sketchy.
you need to do the opposite of what you brain thinks is right with front end slide ... getting on the throttle sooner will most likely clear it up

As mentioned above. You got a plowing situation. Release the front push with slight positive throttle. The key to figuring this out has already been done. You are already aware of this. You just have to overcome the fear. It takes a lot of laps and talking to yourself and calling yourself "you stupid idiot. Ask me how I know.
