So I have a coworker claiming that the ama xr1200 series bikes are doing laptimes comparable to dsb and sbk, I only have my phone at work right now and searching for laptimes is a PITA. Does anyone know how they compare, or whrer I can find it? This harley nut is getting on my nerves.
not even close. they were 7 seconds back at NJMP.

"Sportbikes can't corner. They are too light and just fly off the corner while Harleys stick to the pavement. "
-explanation from my old boss as to why Harleys were so fast. He was an engineer too. Ugh.
2021 KTM Duke 890 R
2020 BMW R1250GS Adventure Exclusive
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
The highway pegs that allow them to lean it over further, coupled with the lightweight straight pipes which provide robust torque allows them to be the badass of any class in the world.
Thanks! You guys are the best!
So, I told him about the laptimes and how they'd probably not keep up with a modersn 600 or 1000. He responded, "It's only their first year. They'll catch up, they're 1200's!".

A different example: the Suzuki V-Strom DL1000 twin, which has been detuned for a flatter torque curve for off-road use. Absolutely completely stock, they're around 95hp on most dynos. An SV1000 is well over 100.

As it happens I loved the look of the XR1200 so I wnet and took one for test ride.. It reminded me of why the Honda 750 was dominate Street bike of the 70's .. What a Snooze the XR. When I returned it, I asked the Tech putting the bike away what the Horse Power was. His response was Way more than any of the other Sportsters,, I couldn't help but thhink you ight want to keep that information to your self.
