I didn't know him well, but I knew him. I was dicing with him in Sunday practice right before the bike quit on me. Later I inquired about his plans to bump up and he noted the summit races as his last required to make the 5/31-6/1 weekend his first with white plates.

It's tragic and very sad anytime something like this happens to anyone, but when it's so close to home, and has happened to a family who has given so much to this sport it seems to hurt even more somehow...
Godspeed Alex...you will be missed.
