Helmets @ the track? S&C?

I've been striking out terribly trying to find a Snell 2005 helmet locally. One of the local shops, they're all Snell 2000. Another, nothing in my size that isn't plastic that fits at all comfortably. One of my "teammates" has a helmet he's going to give me a killer deal on this weekend if it fits well, but I won't know until I get there. I can't take a 2 hour lunch to go try one on farther away, because I'm already pushing it taking Friday off.

I'm giving some serious thought to doing Penguin Friday, but would need a Snell 2005 helmet that fits properly. When does S&C get to the track, and how are their helmet prices and selection?

I'm not 100% but if a Scorpion EXO1000 is snell 2k5, I'll split next day air with you and you can borrow mine for the weekend. I'm busy this weekend anyways and won't have much time to ride.

Miles had good prices on last year's Arai helmets at the Fishtail 2 day event last week. He's usually there all day Friday for Penguin. You should give a call to the shop and give them a heads up. They might be able to toss a couple in the truck for you to try out.
He's a good guy and was looking to work deals last week to make sales. Worth a call to support someone that's been supporting the local guys for a long time.

Hell of an offer! I appreciate it. Thing is, I'm not sure about fit. One of my "teammates" has a helmet he's worn once that doesn't fit him quite right that he's going to sell me at a killer price, that will be there Thurs night. I'm looking for options to be able to try something on in case that one doesn't fit, and figure it'll leave me with a primary and a spare. I've got a "conehead" and a lot of helmets end up being too tight at the dome of my head and not tight enough in the cheeks.

Appreciate it, but that won't help me with Penguin on Friday. I also don't know which model I need... I thought they all fit the same but someone told me different HJC models have a different fit?

That's what I thought. Does the padding create a different shape one to the other, or do they all prettymuch fit the same? Eh, regardless you're not going to be there until Sat, and I need one for Penguin on Fri. Damnit! Appreciate the offer though bud.

+1 in checking with Street and Comp. Miles is always at the track. If you call you will probably talk with Dan or Sarah. They will get it to the track on the truck. I got a new to the season at an exceptional deal.

You can rent a fully approved Arai helmet from Penguin for short short money (like $20 or somethign) as well. That's a good option as opposed to rushing into buying a helmet you aren't 100% on.

Problem with all those options are location. Right now I'm leaning toward rental if I can, S&C if I can't, and Sheppo's shop next week or something.
