*raises hand* I'd be interested in seeing what the dealer price is on the -R. Pretty sure the -RW is outside my range. Also interested in a slipper clutch for the SV (1st gen) if you offer dealer prices on those.![]()
Thanks,
Fitz

I am getting one with track maping. I need a new tach anyway, and I think that the track mapping feature would be an important tool in critiquing my sessions.
One of my sponsors listed in my signature has these discounted, and use my discount code to get even more off.
I picked up a used GPS-R from the 13x forum. It's due in on the 5th. I've heard that mounting can be a real pain in the arse. I'll let you know how it goes.

Yeah, I have two different setups. One is more complex and consists of a few hundred dollars in parts. It includes more memory and accelerometers. I have it hardwired to my EX's 12V, so it's not very portable.
The simple setup consists only of a logging gps that costs less than $100. It's the size of a small cell phone and can easily be zip tied and/or duct taped to any bike.
My setups are geared towards post-session analysis so they don't have any real-time display. They also don't tap into to the bike's systems so RPM and other such data is not collected.
The hardware takes care of data collection, but software is needed to make that software useful. The data is just ordinary GPS data (NMEA strings) so a lot of software is available to turn into Google Earth tracks and such.
To make the data more useful to track riders, I'm working on software to help better analyse the data. So far, I can create track maps, compare laps to see how consistent (or not!) I am, plot my speed, etc. I also noticed little 'blips' in some of the speed data that correspond to shifting, so I might be able to use the data to anaylse my shifting.
Anyways, here's the gps I'm using for the simple system.

The software I have so far is a work in progress, so not yet useable by others. If better software was available, how many of you would be interested in something like this? What about a system that could be rented for a day at the track?
