I'm going to take the lead on organizing racing at Maine Indoor Karting for this winter. I doubt I'll have much of a choice for nights/times to run, but I'd like to know what people would prefer, as well as who'd be up for running.
Last year we ran on Sunday nights, starting at 6pm. Two 8 minute practices, a 4 minute qualifier, and an 8 minute main event make up the evening. We ran two classes, 'small bikes' and 'big bikes', splitting at 111cc. Depending on how busy the place was, you could buy an extra practice beforehand for $10, and an extra practice afterwards for $10. The cost for the series was $140 up front, that got you 5 nights of racing.
Bikes were restricted to traditional 'pitbikes' being; Horizontal air cooled single cylinder four strokes in an open cradle frame with wheels no larger than 14" in front, and 12" in rear. Tech was very lax, no leaks, working front brake, throttle that snapped closed on it's own, spokes/hubs tight.
Last year we ran every weekend, my thought for this year is to run every other weekend, and if there is interest do 'test and tune' nights on alternating weekends. That allows the serious time to dial their machines in between sessions, and test changes before a race, as well as giving newcomers a chance to get on the track without worrying about putting up with racers seeing the red mist. It also allows those who know they can't make all the dates an opportunity to run without 'blowing' the full fee for race time they won't use.
Ideally the costs won't go up, in this case you could do $140 up front for 5 race dates, and $140 up front to cover all the test sessions, or I think the 'one time' fee was $40 a night minus the $10 pre/post optional rounds. I suspect they're going to require up front buy ins for the official league nights, dunno if I'll have much leverage there.
I'd also like to try and get either a Saturday or Sunday towards the end of the season setup as a BIG all day event, try to get a good size crowd present, maybe do an endurance race on top of the normal sprint format, etc.
What's everyone's thoughts on this?
What night WOULD make it worth your while? If I can get a bunch of people to commit to a night, I can make it happen.
I might come down once or twice (but that would be pushing it) I will keep an eye on this.

Not enough riding for the hours of driving and money. I'll opt for a parking lot or driveway racecourse over it.
