Here's some data I collected last fall at a Tony's Track Day on Thunderbolt. This is from a slow guy (me) on an RS125.
The first graph, session 5, shows my times and speed profiles while riding in yellow group (intermediate). I was having a hard time establishing my marks and shift points on the RS125 due to having to brake earlier than necessary approaching most turns so I wouldn't illegally pass traffic. The best I did there was 1:59.109.
The following session, I bumped to blue (advanced) where the bigger bikes didn't brake so early and I did better: 1:52.716. Quite an improvement from the previous session! The next session, the engine seized and I got high-sided off the bike, ending my day. Had I been able to run a few more sessions at the advanced pace, I'm sure I could have dropped a few more seconds.
To sum it up, I would say a novice back-marker on an RS125 should be running at around 1:50-ish or better...

I did a 1:37 something at a track day on my 636...or am I remembering wrong, Pete? (bastard kept beating me on that measly SV... not that we were competing or anything)

Does someone have a track map with the turns numbered??
NJ Map
If Pete did a 1:36.6, then I'm remembering right that I did a 1:37.1. That is using the second chicane...the one after T2 (What we call T3 chicane).
Pang's single best lap was a 1:42.5
Kitt, you should absolutely ask him if he remembers what mine was.![]()

Christian Cronin did a 25.4 on his R6.
Shane Narbonne did a 24.9 on his GSXR1000
1:31 gets you on the Daytona Sportbike grid
1:27 gets you on the American Superbike grid
1:32 gets you on the Supersport grid
That's the only numbers you should be thinking about Kittage![]()

I'm glad to see I have plenty of room for improvement!

The numbers that we put on the turns were before anything was really running on the track... but we needed something to define areas.
For instance, I didn't see a reason to label the chicane 3 different numbers... easier for us to say (entry to the chicane, middle of chicane, or exit of chicane)
I know the corner workers in Jersey definitely have way more turns numbered.
