Fair enough. I'll wait for the launch and patent approval before digging for details. : )
And as far as signing on as an engineer, unfortunately I know just enough to know where to research further, not enough to make a career out of anything. If you're looking for a *nix admin or network monkey on the other hand...![]()

Oooh, I know a few of those words! I'm not at monk level yet with perl, but I have been known to write my own front ends for DSLAMs. Only played with postgres at the most basic level, IE with a book in front of me I can add/drop DBs, set permissions, etc. And the only web based interaction I've delt with is posting forms to a perl script.

So, when do I start collecting six digits from home?![]()
Great concept. For those like me, who have been on-the-hot-pit-with-a-dead-transponder, it should reduce that stress. Everyone buys a $1 tag for each set of bodywork they own (or do you put the tag right on the frame of the bike?) and you no longer worry about batteries dying or loosing a transponder.
The challenge is having a good sales pitch for LRRS.
LRRS already owns a large number of expensive transponders. (I assume LRRS owns them, not NHMS?) What's the incentive for them to ditch the whole transponder system and purchase a new RFID-based timing system, assuming the transponder system is not on it's last leg? Maybe the combination of the RFID system, with their online registration system, could somehow be swizzled into a cost beneficial solution for LRRS. We've been hearing for a while now that LRRS will be going to an online registration system, but I haven't heard any recent updates on it. If LRRS (or NHMS?) has invested in having a custom registration system developed, they may not want to purchase an off the shelf system. If there is no active project to get an online registration system in place, maybe Chris has a sales angle he can use.
OK. no one else has asked so i will. the way i understand this is its a paper label type thing? is that right? and it works sort of like an EZ Pass? what if it gets wet? it rains alot here. would there be any risk of said label falling apart?

Pass it along to the powers that be! TIGER, the entry management system is now intensely loved by some race organizations whose names you may even recognize. Both the racers AND the very relieved administrators.
TIGER lets racers create, change and delete their entry themselves right up until the club's pre-entry deadline (which now, realistically, can be sometime around 1st call). It shows grids based on current entries, and of course, laptimes in your own accounts, results. Automatically assigns practice groups, reporting up the wazzoo, automatic systems on the backend to deal with billing, registration paperwork, on-day check-in, grid combo creation with auto-highlighting of conflicts, race day order creation to minimize back-to-back races, grid creation/printing, results management (drag'n'drop)... oh,and way more that I've forgotten.
Part of the (extremely reasonable) fee for TIGER includes our engineers to work closely with LRRS to tailor the options in TIGER to exactly match LRRS's rules and policies. You do not need to change your rulebook to use TIGER.
To be frank, if LRRS hasn't already deployed an entry management system then they could really be wasting a lot of cash trying to develop it themselves. Tell them to call me. Once they see the demo there's no going back![]()
this may be something for the NEW track that is supposedly in the works in a couple of years.
