As I scout this year's competition, I noticed a few unfamiliar faces. This immediately rose some concerns as I need to adjust my strategies on the fly.
As first call is announced in the Haddock, I struggle to find warmers that will fit the 130/60/13 wheels. A quick google search for suggested parade lap tire pressures, and I was good to go.
Third and final call for the lap. I take one final chug of water and toss on my helmet. My pit crew give a few last words of encouragement and strategy, as they turn the Zuma on and take the scooter off the sidestand for me.
Start:
My nerves rise quickly during the rider's meeting, as the 2011 Larry Lap championship is now within reach.
We take off to begin the warm up lap and I'm feeling confident. I find Oreo as he's within reach for me to pull his shirt back & give me a slight lead.
I backed in the rear going up T3 easily gaining some show off points, as well as more positions for the lead.
Lap 1:
I find the Moto Addiction 99 bike, but thought twice about pulling the move from 2009's event:
I made a safe and clean pass, knowing this was a different rider.
I'm now surrounded by Heath, and his Low Down Racing crew. They try to bully me out of position, but I hold my spot looking to pass Plymouth's Fastest.
Lap 2:
We complete lap #1, and I now see Jaynnus on her new DRZ400. Wheeling on her fancy new bike posed no threat to this fierce competitor. I adjusted my line and easily stuffed her in T1 to gain another position.
I'm searching through the crowd to look for Scottg22, as this might be my only opportunity to ever pass him on the track. He's no where in sight, but I was able to locate my next victim: Doc.
I carely approached the 116, as who knows what he's capable of doing when this compitition is so close. I stayed tightly in his blind spot, and reached for his kill switch at the perfect moment to gain another spot. Oh, and Doc sucks.
Overall it was a great time, and hit a new PB of 2:02.601. I finished around 31st. Sending a letter to Don asking to bump for next year's lap.
PS - and for those who got crushed by Pre-Teen on Saturday's Pit Bike Race, I blew by him on the way home down 93s giving him the![]()
I was number 77... 116 wasn't me.I and the GMR crew finished right behind Larry.

2011 Pit Bike Race CHAMPION!
I took the 3-10 split, took hot pit instead of the straight on the last lap, and I'm pretty sure I still came in last on my electric scooter.

Is this happening on the September weekend or the October weekend?
What are the rules for what you can ride? I'm hoping to get my wife and sister-in-law out there!
You don't have to be a racer, do you?
