link to current LRRS grids?

This system has worked so well for a couple years... are we sure they changed it and it wasn't just that they didn't set it up right?

I was able to click on "laptimes" and it WAS correctly showing my laptimes from the most recent session.

The grids weren't working.

The race results tab just showed the ones from round 7 2012.

So based on how F'd all the grids were all weekend, my guess is something was wrong, not that they changed the app and want to charge 5 bucks for it (?)

Just to follow up ... confirmed that this is in fact the correct app that NHMS decided to use for live timing. Here's a copy of the sheet that was posted on the registration window: LIVE Timing & Scoring.pdf

The Race Monitor app is $4.99.

After installing and run it, the app asks if you want to upgrade to the Plus version of the app for an additional $4.99. The Plus version appears to allow you to focus in on information regarding just one or more racers and can send you various notifications including when a racer you're following has an unusually long lap (read crashed).

AFAIK - NHMS didn't decide to use that app, isn't it controlled by Mylaps? NHMS just supplies the data?

well you can still get laptimes from your most recent session like I mentioned above from the mobile site... just not grids or results.

I'm not sure that the Race Monitor will allow you to do much more than that. It says that you can:
View live timing information
Sort racers by position or qualifying times
Group racers by class

Nothing about grids or results. Dunno. I'd suck up the money to pay for what we had last year (that was great!) but I don't feel the need to be the guinea pig here. It seems like it'd be cool to have when you're watching the race but not so much afterwards.

The application is a one-time buy and once you have it, you have it.

What was the rest of the reply? Anything about how the app will perform (same info as my.nhms, or less/more); whether it's intended to replace my.nhms; etc? I emailed too but got no response yet.

LRRS 2 showed up on the list of up an coming races on Race Monitor. Looks like live timing will be available for all the practice sessions and races, including the Legends Race(s). One of the cool things about the Plus version of the app is you can type in multiple riders' names (to follow) and it will notify you when they are out on the track turning laps.

But not nearly as good as the set up last year. That was perfect. Do we know why the did away with it?

Yeah I'm not seeing anything for Sunday either, although the live timing was working... . I'd be more aggravated if I raced Sundays, so for me it was still worth it.

Just to follow up ... Race Monitor has updated their app. Major changes they say are that Race Monitor is now free to download and use for viewing results and the live timing of "free" races ... but they are also moving to a subscription model (available monthly or annually) so they can provide better service to all. Not sure exactly how this "subscription model" will work for timing at LRRS, but they say for those of us who have already purchased Race Monitor we will automatically receive a complimentary live timing subscription valid until July 31, 2014.

Yeah I just had to buy the app again after switching from Android to IPhone. Paid the extra $5 again for the upgraded version, then got a notification a few hours later that there was an upgrade... I got the "upgrade" and now it says you have to subscribe for live timing... I mainly use the app to check results/lap times so hopefully I can still do that for the$10 I paid (twice).
