I was in the ULSB race, lap 6 or 7 and I came railing into 3... I hit the brakes a little too hard slid up onto the tank.. I think the rear wheel came off the ground and the front tire left a skid mark.. (to match the one in my shorts) I could taste the tires but hauled it back down in time.
Anyone over in 3 witness that?

looked like you did just what ya said.... I didn't see the tire lock or rear come up, but I could tell ya slid forward & were on top of the front wheel. bike looked like it was wigglin around.... then ya missed the apex by a mile & almost stopped for a snack by the tires
ya did good keepin it on two & outta the tire wall though.
haha and yeah, saw the brow wipe![]()

Stompgrips rule.
Can't believe I ever rode my bike without them.
i was in 3 for practices sunday morning and saw about 5 or so people go down.. hopefully noone from here? i was the gnome looking chick in the black sweatshirt with the hood tied around my face haha it was freezing!!
i dont really NEED it i just WANT it
I dunno how you guys stayed out there Sunday morning. I was in group 3-4 and right behind the motard that crashed but didnt make it to the tire wall, he was stopped literally righti n the middle of 3. Fortunarly the motard in front of me saw him and signaled for me to watch out. That session was nuts out there.
You hafta be kidding me. When I started racing, we scraped the frost off our seats for first practice. I remember one time I was clicking 21's in the snow wondering "should I be out here?"
When it rained, there was 2-3 foot DEEP standing water in 12!
You kids don't know the meaning of bad weather... yet. Stick around long enough and you will though.
Let me guess, the straight was 14 miles uphill both ways in the snow back in the day though, right?
Just playing, I just never had ridden in the rain before so it was a little hairier than anything I was used to, Im sure it will be worse someday
Last year saw some pretty rainy weekends, not sure about 2-3 feet of water. But I did see quite a few feet of water in the garages!
Seemed like the EX boys liked the rain, when an all skate practice was called a few of them had to have stayed on the track for 45 minutes or so.
lol, ya the rain works for me. certainly perfer the dry, but the rain isnt bad.

Lol, EXACTLY!
Seriously though, the weather has been really mild for the last few years. Loudon can be a vortex for all bad weather. From 2000 to 04 it seemed like there where storms EVERY race weekend. I went through canopies and tents like they were tires or something.
pop's brought the buell home looking slightly more second hand than it usually does. apparently a victim of damp morning practice on sunday...he mentioned something about trying to negotiate turn 1 sans bike. all in all it sounded like a pretty hairy morning. i think i'd preffer pouring rain and standing water over damp and patchy anytime. in fact i distinctly remember splashing through a large puddle in 11 sometime last season....it was fun and terrifying all at the same time.
