You could probably bump if you asked. You want me to write you a letter?

Nah, I'll flog my way through some AM races. I'm not all antsy in the pantsy to be an expert like Mr.Lemire.

Is it "Mr. Lemire"? or "Doctor Lemire"? Should we change your User Name to reflect the change?

.5 means you're finishing on average mid pack, you're not a back marker, but you're not dominating either. 1 means you rock, 0 means less brake lever more throttle.

Re: How does this look? :D

    Cell F1: =1-(D1/C1)
    D1 is your finish
C1 is the number of starters
Repeat for as many rows as you have race results. Enter 0 manually if you start but don't finish a race, ie DNF, etc.

Then it's just a matter of =Average(F1:F10) to get your average, assuming 10 rows.

    I don't, but...

A rider index will be calculated for every Novice or Amateur rider based on his/
her finishes in every race. The formula for the index number is (1 — (finish/
starters)). (divide the finishing position by the number of starters in a race and
subtract this from the number 1 ) All index numbers will then be averaged for
each rider. The result will be the rider index
So the equation used is (1 — (finish/starters)).

ie, divide the finishing position by the number of starters in a race and subtract this from the number 1.

That's how they get your index for that particular race.... then you just average them all together.

Thanks Pete, my math isn't that bad. I was just hoping to not have to do any.
