LRRS Alum rides the Champ's bike

Zack Courts, ex-LRRS 125 rider, is now Associate Editor at Sport Rider. On Tuesday after NOLA he got to ride Hayes' R1. Pretty cool video summing up the experience.

Oddly enough... another former LRRS racer got to ride the bike on Monday... you're truly... Zack's comments echo's my experience pretty well. Amazing...

Very cool. So jealous he gets paid for that.

I definitely need to figure out a way to get a bike to ride NOLA the next time I am down there visiting family.

So what kind of times did he put up when he raced Loudon?

Fast ones. :15's on a 125 if I recall correctly. Paul Duval would know better, he and Zack raced together.

I need to get a job like that... Alex, can you get me a ride on Crutchlow's pitbike the next time he's in the US?

Zack is a great rider. 16s for sure on the 125, and many tough battles. Not many people understand how fast that is in comparison to big bike times.

I think he went on to a 600 and was starting to do well when he left.

That's right he did. He went to a R6. Want to say 13's or 14's on the R6.

Sure. Come to Austin, Laguna, or Indy and I'll get you a ride on his pitbike.

All they need to do is ride one around there to appreciate it! After "flying" around Loudon a Vader machine, I was quite humbled to come back in the pits and learn I was doing 26-28s

Re: LRRS Alum rides the Champ's bike

Why would a video about a motorcycle magazine riding a pro race motorcycle be in the "Off-Topic" section? Small wonder I didn't see it posted. I oddly enough looked in the "General Bike Related" forum and the "Pit Area" racing forum...

Yes, Zack's from around here. I saw more of him running vintage in the USCRA. He raced the 125's and also ran a Triumph on occasion, dicing with Dave Roper and beating him on a good day. He and his father were unbeatable on a sidecar rig. They took turns driving the rig, and in a few memorable races they would swap places coming down the front straight at a good clip, still winning by about 8 seconds.
